They only flipping work!
Wanted the pigeons to bugger off from my garden, especially with their nasty deposits all over my seating areas..pigeons been roosting and causing havoc for years.. put three balloons up as described ..now on day 5..not a peep of one ..do not want to jinx it but its a miracle.. also cute small birds not bothered by them and are enjoying flying around this tree now..5/5UPDATE..ONE MONTH IN AND STILL BRILLIANT..PIGEONS HAVE MOVED TO DIFFERENT LOCATION ..

Basically useless - other reviews *cannot* be honest
I ordered 4 of these to try and stop pigeons roosting on my balcony. Not knowing what would be effective or easier to install I put up netting on one side and spikes on the other. The netting couldn't be fit with no gaps so I put two of these balloons up in front of these as an extra deterrent and trialled both. They were dangling, moved in the wind slightly, had the stickers and streamers fitted as per the instructions. It worked for a day. These are useless. The paid-for reviews here *cannot* be honest. After a day, the pigeons were flying by, roosting and ignoring these balloons to get at the gaps in the netting. One even tried to land on the balloon itself. The side with the spikes seems to be working. These, however, have made no difference at all. They don't even have value as a slight physical barrier, let alone an actual visual deterrent.Avoid these and either use spikes where appropriate or a full-on gap-less net. These are useless based on what I've seen.I don't tend to bother with Amazon reviews but these were a waste of both my money and - to install - my time.

Good, robust, does what it says.
Well, it floats on my pond and will suddenly propel itself around on the surface; I wouldn't choose it as an ornament but I'm hoping that it might help to deter a very bold cormorant that visited the previous week. I have since seen it fly over but, touch wood, not land again. The eyes look quite freaky and sometimes it will rotate so they're positioned vertically. Quite entertaining at times. It's more like a strong beach ball than a balloon, much tougher construction than I had expected. A good purchase, not sure it'll do the job for long, but anything is worth a try to scare off a persistent pest.

Scary Yellow Balls
I purchased along side a fake dead crow. We were simply fed up with early morning wake ups courtesy of a large crow population, and starlings who seemed hell-bent on getting into our eaves. We have installed two of these, which blow up to the size of a small beach ball, and also the fake dead crow. The balls blow up, literally like a beach ball, unsure how long they will last, I plan to check on them weekly. We are seven days with our yellow balls and dead crow and appear to have scared off the starlings, and crows. Just hope that this continues.PS: the dogs were initially scared of the yellow balls but have warmed to them now. We're rural dwellers with a large crow population. Our dead crow, coupled with some yellow balloon bird scarers is doing the job.... just hope it continues!

Excellent; No pigeons for 5 weeks!
These look slightly weird (see photo) but they have definitely worked for a week so far. Last year I put down loads of lawn seed after the summer sun had left large bare patches and all I got was fat pigeons. This time I seeded the lawn exactly the same but with these balloons I have not seen a single pigeon on the lawn. It has only been a week so far, and realistically I only need them to work for a couple of weeks more. They were a bit hard to inflate, with a lot of blowing (the valves seem very small) but they have stayed up and in view of the results, well worth the effort. Excellent!Update after 4 more weeks; Pigeons still absent presumed hungry, grass now growing well and me pleased. I will deflate them and re-use if they store well, but I would also buy them again if they perish.

Awful design
Do these work? I haven't got a clue since I haven't used them yet. However, the design is appalling. Why oh why can't the reflective surfaces be made part of the balloon itself rather than using cheap, flimsy, stickers? Why on earth are the stickers separated with an inner part and a centre ring if the whole thing is supposed to be used? Seriously, try removing the sticker. Some of the time the whole sticker comes off with it's paper backing and at least half of the time the outer ring comes off correctly and leaves the centre behind. Good luck with trying to remove the paper from the centre by itself! This is either an awful design or quality control is sadly lacking and some stickers actually work correctly and I have just been unlucky. Either way I am not impressed.

Dodnt know if this would work but so far so good
Fed up of the pigeons nesting in the tall hedge right above my garden furniture we added one of these so far to that corner (6fy up across two hedges/trees) and so far.... the birds haven't decided to come back yet to that spot (they are the other end of garden which I don't mind). It does blow around of course a lot in the wind and sometimes we need to re-attach to our makeshift connection between the trees but this is like a beach ball style and we have a super windy garden.Great thing is there are 3 in the parcel so we can use for many years as we didn't need all three to deter the corner nesting. So yes, even though my husband thought I was crazy and the kids thought it was a ball/toy.... so far it is working to stop them pesky pigeons!

The balloon works! I bought them to prevent birds ...
The balloon works! I bought them to prevent birds from attacking the thatched roof of my house. The attacks have dropped by 80%. The critisism that I do have though is that the valve is quite weak. I blow the balloon up myself without using a pump so I don't cause damage to the valve. The balloon loses air slowly over time and when I blow it up again the valve will not hold the air in, so I then need to go onto the next balloon. Making the valve stronger would be a plus and maybe for an extra pound the correct adaptor for a pump could be included.
