Rubbermaid 11.4L Space Saving Container - Clear

Perfect size for home kitchen sous vide tucked away in the corner. Cut the rubbermaid lid that goes with it for a close fit to a Wancle immersion unit to cut water evaporation. Can fit maybe 6 vac bags (on edge) of steak in an IKEA rack. I clean it all in a slim Dishwasher easily.

I bought this to use in conjunction with a Wancle Sous Vide cooker because I didn't have a suitable pot for cooking multiple things. The sous vide stick fits perfectly and there's plenty of space for multiple items. I've used it 5-6 times so far, the outside of the container gets a little warm to the touch (as you'd expect) but it has been holding up well so far. I'd definitely recommend this for sous vide use when cooking for 4-6 people. Not sure how well it would do when cooking for larger amounts of people, but there are larger container sizes available for that.

I purchased this to use with the Anova Precision Cooker and have found it to work brilliantly. The square shape ensures that i can fit a decent number of bags into it efficiently which is much better than the round pan I was using previously. The Anova fits firmly and easily onto the container and the slight lip causes no issues with fit. I either just put cling film over the top to reduce evaporation or use the separate lid for this model (lid model no. FG652300WHT)

Size is perfect for the Anova machine. Recommend, makes sous vide cooking a breeze.

If, like me, you make a lot of sourdough bread and use the 'turns' method rather than kneading, then having a polycarbonate tub is very useful. Some books would have you believe you need a massive tub. This is more than big enough for doughs using upwards of kilogram of flour. I could almost certainly get away with something a bit smaller. There is also a lid available for this tub, however it's advertised as for the 7.5L Rubbermaid container, whereas this is advertised as 7.6L. Anyway, it fits.

I also purchased the lid. It is the perfect container for my home sous vide set up and a lot cheaper than buying the "proper" sous vide container for my machine. For example when slow cooking pork shoulder for 16hrs there was no water loss due to evaporation so it is awesome!

Used in conjunction with the container lid (http://amzn.to/29mur16) and the Anova precision cooker. Simply draw around the Anova holder on the lid and carefully cut out with a stanley knife. Lid creates a stable holder and a tight seal around the device. Would recommend the 11.4 for cooking more than 2 steaks/breasts or larger items such as joints. Use the 7.6 litre when cooking for two or smaller cuts/eggs etc.

Bought this as a small to medium sous vide container and it is perfect. Really pleased. I also bought the matching lid (I think it was J879) and they work great with my Wancle sous vide.

Works perfectly well for our use as a container when cooking Sous Vide style .... we also bought the matching lid which eliminates evaporation issues on the long cooks. A great unit with lifting cupped handles making it much easier to lift when full of water etc.

Lightweight but seems strong and easy to clean - I can see that this would be a great vessel for dry goods or for marinating a huge amount of ribs etc for BBQ parties but this wasn't my purpose - it is perfect for my Anova Sous Vide. The tub is big enough to Sous Vide four portions of fish or smaller cuts of steak or 2 large Porterhouse steaks. The lids to fit a sous vide cooker are outrageously priced so I purchased this lid to go with it: Rubbermaid Commercial Lid SQ SSC (FG652300WHT) and cut a hole at the corner using an exacto knife. Perfect fit, keeps the heat from escaping and probably saves a bit of power. The lid also clamps the vacuum seal bag in place so it doesn't float all around or sink to the bottom resulting in uneven cooking. - ideal for dry good storage or marinating a large amount of ribs etc for the next backyard BBQ party. I would not use this tub for long term liquid storage (especially an acid base like tomato sauce) as I am unsure about whether this item has potentially toxic chemicals in the plastic.

These are quality and huge! The markings are good and I can tell these will last a long time. Just beware that they don't come with lids.
