Water-based ~ great for the work I do
📝 ‘The Dual Brush Pen is a water-based marker with water-soluble ink that can be blended and diluted with water. It features a brush tip and a fine point bullet tip’. IMO, you generally get what you pay for when it comes to this type of product and experience, the type of work, paper texture & grade all play a part. Usually a Goldilocks type of moment for me, some are too hard and/or scratchy, some too soft and some well…maybe just about right. For that reason, I always ‘try it & see’, when there is the opportunity to buy a single item because it can be an expensive hobby! It was like being back in time in a sweetie shop, exploring the 100+ different colours in this range and I absolutely love this…the colour, the way the two tips work and I hope Santa will be thinking of a couple more, next month (at the time of writing)! One end is a flexible soft brush-like tip for a more sweeping stroke, with the other one handy for when more definition is required. The tips have held without splaying or fraying and there is no sign of the pen running dry, in my experience so far. ooOoo ~ TOMBOW ~ ABT DUAL BRUSH PEN COLOUR: PORT RED/757 ‘Made in Vietnam’ ooOoo Larger than most in my kit, the dual-ended pen measures around 19 cm in length and is elegant in black with white contrast. The coloured cap at one end and the opposite end ‘stripe’ next to the thin cap is indicative of the colour shade within, especially useful if you have more than one. The COLOUR NAME is not on the item. There is no shirt clip but a little ridge on the large cap (image below refers) stops the rigid plastic-type, round barrelled pen from rolling around the table. The caps handily fit over or slides in the other end for safe keeping, when in use. Both caps pull off and return with a satisfactory click. It is wise to take some time replacing the cap centrally so as not to damage the tips. There is no scent in use, to my nose. Online clips are available to show the versatility of this product, far better than I can, and it is possible to download a colour wheel from the manufacturer website, also at the time of writing. Believed to be correct at the time of writing, the complete colour chart is: CODE ~ COLOUR NAME N00 ~ BLENDER 020 ~ PEACH 025 ~ LIGHT ORANGE 026 ~ YELLOW GOLD 027 ~ DARK OCHRE 055 ~ PROCESS YELLOW 062 ~ PALE YELLOW 076 ~ GREEN OCHRE 090 ~ BABY YELLOW 098 ~ AVOCADO 126 ~ LIGHT OLIVE 133 ~ CHARTREUSE 158 ~ DARK OLIVE 173 ~ WILLOW GREEN 177 ~ DARK JADE 192 ~ ASPARAGUS 195 ~ LIGHT GREEN 228 ~ GREY GREEN 243 ~ MINT 245 ~ SAP GREEN 249 ~ HUNTER GREEN 277 ~ DARK GREEN 296 ~ GREEN 312 ~ HOLLY GREEN 346 ~ SEA GREEN 373 ~ SEA BLUE 443 ~ TURQUOISE 451 ~ SKY BLUE 452 ~ PROCESS BLUE 476 ~ CYAN 491 ~ GLACIER BLUE 493 ~ REFLEX BLUE 515 ~ LIGHT BLUE 526 ~ TRUE BLUE 528 ~ NAVY BLUE 533 ~ PEACOCK BLUE 535 ~ COBALT BLUE 553 ~ MIST PURPLE 555 ~ ULTRAMARINE 565 ~ DEEP BLUE 603 ~ PERIWINKLE 606 ~ VIOLET 620 ~ LILAC 623 ~ PURPLE SAGE 636 ~ IMPERIAL PURPLE 665 ~ PURPLE 673 ~ ORCHID 676 ~ ROYAL PURPLE 679 ~ DARK PLUM 685 ~ DEEP MAGENTA 703 ~ PINK ROSE 723 ~ PINK 725 ~ RHODAMINE RED 743 ~ HOT PINK 755 ~ RUBINE RED 757 ~ PORT RED 761 ~ CARNATION 772 ~ BLUSH 800 ~ BABY PINK 815 ~ CHERRY 835 ~ PERSIMMON 837 ~ WINE RED 845 ~ CARMINE 847 ~ CRIMSON 850 ~ PINKISH CREAM 856 ~ CHINESE RED 873 ~ CORAL 879 ~ BROWN 885 ~ WARM RED 899 ~ REDWOOD 905 ~ RED 912 ~ PALE CHERRY 925 ~ SCARLET 933 ~ ORANGE 942 ~ TAN 946 ~ GOLD OCHRE 947 ~ BURNT SIENNA 969 ~ CHOCOLATE 977 ~ SADDLE BROWN 985 ~ CHROME YELLOW 990 ~ LIGHT SAND 991 ~ LIGHT OCHRE 992 ~ SAND 993 ~ CHROME ORANGE N15 ~ BLACK N25 ~ LAMP BLACK N35 ~ COOL GREY 12 N45 ~ COOL GREY 10 N55 ~ COOL GREY 7 N57 ~ WARM GREY 5 N60 ~ COOL GREY 6 N65 ~ COOL GREY 5 N75 ~ COOL GREY 3 N79 ~ WARM GREY 2 N89 ~ WARM GREY 1 N95 ~ COOL GREY 1 [9 images attached]

Fabulous Deep Magenta Shade Of Pen - Great For Colouring Books!
This was included as part of 3 free sample pens sent to me by Tombow Europe as I heaped praise on their Process Yellow 055 from the same range. I would call this a deep shade of pink. I tried using it to colour in a face in one of my adult colouring books but I think I would need a lighter shade as using the Derwent Water Brush over the colour failed to lighten it to what I required. However, that said, this pen should not be used to shade 'skin' in my opinion and is made as such. For example, if you were to colour in flowers or something you wanted a brighter but darker shade of pink then this is the shade for you. If you possess the Staedtler Triplus pens there is a colour similar to this in that set, but the beauty of the Tombow is its versatility. Fine nib for fiddly bits and the brush for less detailed work. I do tend to use the brush more than the nib though but I guess that is personal preference. Because of the huge range of Tombow pens I will probably find the shades I require rather than trying to create them using a waterbrush. I am not that confident in this area of colouring but I should imagine I would improve given practice.

Good pen. Not a beginners pen though
I bought this pen as my first ever brush pen and I found it really difficult to get the hang of because the pen is supposed to be used for large lettering (I didn't know that until I became brush lettering obsessed) and I was trying to write small. The brush split after about 2-3 weeks of using it so after that the lettering didn't look nice. The small nib on the other side is alright to use but leeks through paper. If you're a beginner I would 100% go for the Tombow Fudenoskue until you learn how to do brush lettering. They're also a lot cheaper than the Tombow dual pen. Overall, good pen, bit pricey, would buy again. (Also in my opinion, Tombow is the best brand).

Bujo essential
It is exactly what I wanted. I bought an individual tomboy to test out whether this what what I really needed and it definitely do. It is great and I'll be getting some other colours now.

excellent value brush pen for calligraphy
I bought this for card making and my bullet journal and it is great. The ink is acid free and I am getting to grips with applying more pressure to the downward strokes and drawing some arty letters. It is a nice touch that there is a fine liner on the other side, which is equally easy to write with. I like that the ink is quick to dry and a very deep black, in oppose to some of the cheaper brands.

I love them and the quality was defenitly better exept for ...
I ordered the black one (N15) a few months ago and was quite disapointed about it : the brush was thick even without pressure on it and the pen side was also thick as if it was already used.. But I decided to let a chance to these brush pens and chose a few more ( N60,373,977,772,623,873 and 346). I love them and the quality was defenitly better exept for the 346 where I get some troubles the brush isn't as fluid as the others (like the black) and made 2lines instead of one sometimes. So is it a problem of dark colors or just bad chance well I have no clue. But it definitly desapointed me for pens that we heared so much good
