I didn’t understand the 4 stars on this initially. This is an adorable advent calendar that has SO much potential. The only major problem my children and I had with it is that there are WAYYYY too many consecutive days of stickers. A cute tree is provided in the packages to decorate with stickers, but you run out of space within a few days and still have endless days of stickers. We eventually began drawing Christmas pictures and using up the stickers there. But after a while, my girls (9 & 6) quickly became disappointed on sticker days. I’m not sure why there are so many, but they could definitely come up with more games, and even split some of the activities up between days, like the question and answer one that has at least 50 questions for one day. Heck, even putting the mini Christmas related activities written on the back of the boxes INSIDE those boxes in lieu of so many stickers would be an improvement. A lot of potential here. Probably won’t buy it again, but really not that bad.

The past few years I have made advent calendars for the kids because I didn't want something with cheap plastic toys. But this year I was thrilled to discover the Skillmatics Advent calendar. This is exactly what I was looking for!!! We know and love multiple games by the brand already. The advent calendar just arrived and I of course had to take a peek. Inside each day are stickers to decorate the included 3D cardboard Christmas tree or a card game. It all looks very well made and I know my daughter will love the stickers. We also have to original Memory Match (which we love) and I was happy to see a holiday version is included in one of the days. This is something I know we will play over and over. That would be enough on its own, but there are also thoughtful daily prompts for activities. At quick glance, there was "Ask your family at home what they love about Christmas and tell them why you love Christmas too!" "Make a Christmas card for someone you love" and "Tell everyone at home one thing you love about them and spread some Christmas cheer!" I love this because it goes beyond just a countdown to Christmas, and will engage the kids with activities and Christmas spirit. Can't wait for them to start this advent calendar!

I was really excited to purchase this for my 5 year old son. The small Christmas tree that it came with and the display is really cute. My problem is that most of the items are stickers. I was under the impression that there would be more games and activities. We are on day 8 and 7 of the days have been stickers. One of the days included a Christmas matching game that is really cute. I wish it had a higher ratio of these types of things than the stickers. Even my 5 year old is already bored on day 8 and opened it today and so, "oh...more stickers..." On the back of each day there is a little prompt for something nice to do, but I just wish there was more to the items than mostly stickers.

I bought this for my 7 and 8 year old grandsons for Christmas. It was very colorful and festive and had some great conversation starter cards. The disappointing part was the gifts as it had mostly stickers and not much variety. They began to lose interest after awhile. I still think it was an economical calendar but would recommend more variety be added.

Fun, cute advent calendar- my kids personally love stickers, so getting to put stickers on their own tree every day is perfect. Almost every day has 3 sticker sheets, giving them plenty of stickers for their tree and some extra to use during the season. I love that each day has simple sweet prompts like: tell everyone at home something you love about them, or ask your family what they love about Christmas. The games look fun and festive- there is a memory game, speed game, scavenger hunt and connection question game. The boxes come with the numbers randomly arranged but can easily be moved if you prefer to have them in consecutive order. Looking forward to the kids using it this holiday season!

I was excited to get an advent full of stickers and activities for the kids and I to do together. What I didn't realize is that it would be 20 days of stickers with 4 games. It got to the point where my 4 year old did not want to put any more stickers on the tree because he was so over it.

I bought this for my 7 year old grandson thinking a mix of stickers and games would be nice. It looks darling but it's almost all stickers and few games. He's bored with so many stickers and we're only on day twelve. I will not buy again.

This item looks beautiful on display as part of our Christmas decorations. It is high quality and tastefully designed. The prizes inside have been a giant hit for my 5 year old grandson. NO CANDY!! Great little games. Stickers for the included Christmas tree. I look forward to buying one again from this company for next Advent.

This calendar by Skillmatics offers a really novel and different approach to helping your little ones count down to the magical day. Each year we try not to do the almost obligatory and bog standard chocolate type calendars in our household. We have tried lots of various alternatives over the years such as toys, books, arts and crafts etc, so when this calendar came up it was a no brainier to give it a whirl, and although I am glad we did I do have some thoughts that would stop me from recommending this in its present guise.The calendar itself is very well made from thick and durable card. It comes attractively packaged which alludes to the impression you are in for a rather entertaining December countdown. There are 24 ‘doors’ in total, with 12 compartments hung each side of an ‘A’ frame type stand. Each compartment can be lifted off individually and reveals inside a mixture of different items depending on which date you’re open. All of the product items inside each compartment are either game cards, stickers or a combination of both. The stickers, of which you receive now less than 200 are provided to decorate an accompanying and rather colourful card tree. Just like the main calendar itself, the tree is made from very thick and good quality card. The stickers are all Christmas themed and once you get a few days in your tree really starts to fill up and look great.Here’s where I have my complaint however. It’s a novel idea but more than a little repetitive and therefore it didn’t quite have the same appeal for my young son once he had got a little under half way in. I cannot fault the manufacturers for quality and components as it both looks and feels like a great product. That being said though, I am taking off two stars purely down to the calendars lack of longevity and interest. As great as it initially seems, the excitement of what was coming next was a little overshadowed by the fact that almost everyday revealed the same thing. It’s a great concept that, for me at least, probably needs a little bit more thought, development and almost certainly a diversity of surprises inside for your children. Good, but room for improvement.

Overall I quite like this activity advent calendar. It's very well made and there is a lot there to entertain young, and maybe not so young minds. Some of the boxes contain stickers and some contain activities. I've not looked through every one because I don't want to damage anything for the kids but the activity boxes I have opened require more than one person to complete. This is great if you have more than one child, they have friends who visit often, or you have time to do the activities with them. We should all make time to play with our children but, especially in the run up to Christmas, time can be in short supply.I've given 4 out of 5 stars because of the price. It is very well made but it's only got to last 24 days, or a little more if you revisit the activities. It can't really be put away for next Christmas as the stickers have all been used. I guess you could put in new activities but that sort of defeats the object. I think it could have been made of lesser quality materials and the price reduced accordingly.Overall, based on the boxes I've opened, I'm impressed with what I see. The stickers are good quality and the pictures are cute and will make a great reusable decoration for years to come. The activities will make children use their brains which is always good.To sum up, I do recommend this activity advent calendar but I wish it cost a little less.

This is a very interesting and unusual advent calendar, but on my opinion price could be little bit cheaper.I love these colourful boxes with dates. I am planning to use it for next year and fill it up with something different for my child.My 4 yo girl was very curious to open boxes and specially she was happy to put stickers on this cute christmas tree from the box. She is little bit small for the card games from the box, so we will keep it for next year or so. The only things I am not really happy - stickers are not easy to take out from the paper base, some unfortunately was demaged when we were trying to stick them. The quality of stuckers could be better.Overall very nice present for kids. I haven't seen nothing similar yet.Recommend it as unusual toy- game.

This is an excellent advent calendar and perfect for my 10 year old in the build up to the big day. It is always nice to find a company that thinks outside the box, this calendar is full of daily activities that my son will love. So today being the 1st December, his eyes completely lit up when he saw this and the fact we had to assemble it just made it even better for him as he enjoys being hands on and involved.Very well made and fully recyclable, well done Skillmatics

If your children love card style games then this advent calendar could be a good choice. There are a mix of card games and stickers behind each number. My children liked this advent calendar but I think they would have preferred more of the games as opposed to the stickers. There are more days with stickers than anything else. It was a fun item and they really enjoyed opening each day though. It is well made and I like the Christmas tree decoration that comes with it and how you could use the stickers for decorating. I do think it is a little pricey (at time of review) however to be fair I think this is the same for most advent calendars.Overall it is a lovely advent calendar and different to a typical chocolate calendar.
