I had a fire door in my new house that simply would not close with its built-in hinge springs. If it wouldn't close and latch, the code enforcement officer could not give me a C of O (Certificate of Occupancy). Well, the closer did the job. It turns out the the reason the door would not close on its own was that I built the house too tight. Opening windows in the garage and the house would let the door close on its own. But what good is a fire door that only works if the windows are open? This solved the problem for a reasonable price.

I am definitely not a handyman, but I had a leaking door closer that needed replacing. I ordered this one, and have been very pleased with its operation for nearly a year. The only complaint/trouble I had was from the instructions, which were poorly written (or at least for someone who has no prior experience installing one of these). I eventually figured it out, but it did take some trial and error...since then, I am very pleased with teh operation and would definitely buy again!
