Good addition to the Shield
I have tried a number of different accessories to get a better grip on my M&P Shield. I have to admit that my favorite was the Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove because it provides a larger girth to the grip to fit my hand better plus the better non-slip surface. The problem with the Grip Glove is that it slips and doesn't stay in place. I tried a number of different things like tape and glue, but they just make a mess and they don't really hold the Grip Glove in place for very long. So after reading the positive reviews for these rubberized Talon grips, I decided to try it. It installs very easily and is cut precisely to fit the Shield. A bit of time and repitition with a heat gun, and this grip "tape" is very securely installed on the Shield. I think it can be removed, but I would have to deliberately want to do that. The problem with the Talon grip is that it does not add much (really any appreciable) girth to the grip. As most Shield owners know, it's a skinny grip and takes some time getting use to it. Anyway, as a lark, I put the Grip Glove over the Talon grip and lo and behold, the Grip Glove doesn't slip anymore. It does rotate slightly, but the big thing is that it no longer slips down to interfere with a magazine change. The small bit of rotation is easily adjusted, and that seems to be so slight that I only readjust it after a complete range session. This might be a waste to a lot of you, but I'm quite happy with this. Granted, the Talon Grip itself is a very good product and improves the ability to have a better purchase on the gun even with sweaty hands, so by itself it is well worth it. Like most have already reported, it is a good product and something I would recommend.

Great Upgrade - a must for S&W Shield especially
HUGE improvement in grip and looks great as well. Fits so well that it's impossible to tell that the Talon grips aren't just enhanced S&W Shield grips. Easy to install - just peel and stick. Sticks very well - have had them installed on my S&W Shield daily concealed carry for about 9 months with no sign of any lifting or separation. A must for the Shield since the standard texture of the handgrip is not aggressive enough. Use a hair dryer to warm the grips once you have them in place and they mold even better to the pistol. Most importantly, the grips will really enhance the feel and controllability of the pistol. A fantastic high quality and durable upgrade that looks better than OEM.

Really improved the grip on my M&P Shield! The installation was easier than I thought. 100% reccomend these!
Heard about Talon Grips from a YouTube channel I like, and I'm really glad I did. When I first got my M&P Shield, the grip was really slippery in my hands, plus this was the first compact pistol I've ever owned. I put the rubberized Talon Grips on and it's made a huge difference and I feel more relaxed while shooting because I'm not white-knuckling the grip. It really stays put in my hands but it's not too rough to irritate them. The installation was easier than I thought it would be. I'm horrible at putting things like decals or cut out stickers on stuff, so I was nervous when I started getting it all lined up. I followed the included instructions very closely and it was easy to understand. I just went very slowly and got it right the first time, which for me is a miracle. I should have bought a lottery ticket that day, because seriously... I'm HORRIBLE at this kind of stuff. Along some of the lines where there are cut outs I used a a small slotted screwdriver to help guide the openings into place without stretching the rubber. Then I pressed it all down really good and used a heat gun on the lowest setting to finish it. (Held it several inches away to make sure it wasn't too hot.) Followed the directions, and everything went well! I really recommend these. Especially if you have a Shield because the grip is so slick on those.

BUY NOW! BELIEVE THE HYPE!
BUY NOW! BELIEVE THE HYPE! My polymer handgun has been significantly enhanced for 18 dollars. The entire feel of the handgun has been altered for the better. The Talon grip causes the frame of the handgun to tack to your hand and feels as if it is a natural extension of your body. It creates a bond that gives your body an intuitive sense and feel for the handgun. Also, polymer pistols, especially smaller ones, can become slippery and more difficult to handle due to sweat. The Talon grips are great for this. I bought the rubber grips; they look ten times better in person than through the screenshots shown. The rubber grips align to the frame perfectly and look fantastic. The appearance looks better than before; I thought the grips might cheapen the handgun's appearance. Not hard to apply the rubber material. I have only had for a week but if I have to spend 18 dollars every year or two for these, I gladly will.

Detailed review, both textures (pictures)
I have had a Smith and Wesson Shield 9mm for a few years now and generally use it as my edc, especially in the warmer months. Overall I like it, but I do have a few gripes with the gun, one of which has been that the grip area of the polymer frame always felt pretty smooth. I figured I would give these Talon grips a shot as the cost is pretty low and they appeared to be easy to remove if I didn't like them. I started off with the granulate, as I had recently tried a full size Sig Sauer with a similar textured grip area which I found appealing. They were easy to install, and honestly looked excellent on the gun. My grip on the firearm was unparalleled. I did find however that the granulate on these Talon grips is very coarse, much more so than the factory ones on the Sig (and I'd imagine on the new S&W Shield 45.) Carrying with them was not ideal, they would sometimes snag on my shirt or irritate my skin if I did not have an undershirt etc. I'd imagine that if you edc with them you'd have to be willing to replace quite a few otherwise good shirts, as they would wear out or fray the area they made contact with after a while. So sadly, I took them off and purchased a set of the rubber texture. As with the granulate, these were easy to apply - probably easier as the rubber is more malleable under heat. First impressions for myself and my girlfriend were that they did not look as nice as the granulate. The rubber is a slightly lighter color than the polymer, I kind of wish it was darker to be honest. The grip is not on par with the granulate, but is still greatly improved over stock. The only negative I have found (and this is with both kits) is that the textured pinky extension for the 8 round mag should really be included. I did not like that the extended magazine's texture did not match with the grip of the gun as they are basically one and the same in my hand. You can find the magazine kit separately on Amazon, but I would suggest purchasing them from Talon directly - I was able to get three of them for around $6 with free shipping. Last time I checked they were around $6 on Amazon for one. Just to sum it up: - Both are worth the money and quality control is great. - Granulate is superior but not ideal for edc, will irritate you skin and wear out you clothes unless you have a holster with a sweat shield. Would work great if you only plan on using the gun for home defense or target shooting. - Rubber is the way to go for edc, but I would recommend purchasing separately the kit to texture your 8 round magazine with the pinky extension.

Excellent Grip once you sand it down slightly, stock Granulate-Black is a little too abrasive for me. After that, A+++
First thing to mention, for me, this grip (Granulate-Black) is too rough the way it comes out of the box when you get it. After I installed and held it in my hand it was literally painful to grip for more than 10-15 seconds. Not like it is severely painful, just uncomfortable after 20-30 seconds in my hand. So I sanded the grip down with normal sandpaper mid grit (300-600). I kept checking it after sanding for a few minutes being sure to take my time and make it evenly worn. Once I had it sanded to the smoothness vs. roughness I was looking for, it is an AMAZING grip. I feel I could have literal oil on my hands and would have no issues holding on to this gun during a roller coaster ride. (Not that I have done that, just wanted to point out how good the grip is). Installation is a breeze, excellent instructions and A+ materials here. The next time out at the range with this Talon grip I improved my accuracy GREATLY! I was actually pretty surprised this made such a difference. I also added a set of TRUGLO fiber optic sights, so I am sure that helped also in my superior grouping of my shots and overall accuracy towards center dot. I have included a pic of the gun w/ sanded grips along with a target from my first trip to the range after adding this. (Note, the picture below is BEFORE I sanded the grip. I will try to get a pic of the finished sanded grip soon.)

Look no further - the perfect grip
Absolutely LOVE the Talon Grips! Previous grips added more bulk and could move out of place or stretch. These, however, do not! Very low profile so it does not interfere with going in and out of holsters, both open carry and concealed. They also blend right into the gun and are very streamline. Once the grips are installed, they look as if they were manufactured onto the gun, not something added onto it. The texture is exactly what you want in a grip- rough enough to give your hand traction even if slightly wet, yet not so rough it feels like you will start bleeding when you fire the gun or move your hand on it. Installation was straight forward and easy. One piece was not placed correctly (operator error, not a product flaw) and was fine being peeled back up and moved- it has stayed in place like all the other pieces. I will be getting these grips for all my guns.
