I have used great flashlights from Sofirn and Wurkkos, but this is a step up in quality. Pair this with a decent 5000mah battery and you'll have all you need on a recreational dive and even a technical dive if you don't use full power constantly. This torch is a light sabre, and it is about the best torch I've seen for signalling to other divers due to the narrow beam. It has a usable 'spill' outside of it's main beam, so it is still practical. For long distance or piercing through murky UK diving hotspots, it's excellent. Compared to other diving and non-diving torches, the stated lumens appears to be accurate. I have used this torch down to 35m, and I would not hesitate taking it deeper. Cons: The security 'lockout' feature that prevents accidental use doesn't work. I used it once and found the torch ON when I got to the dive site after a 3hr drive. I had to change the battery (26650) to a spare when I got there (which lasted two 45+ min dives). This torch turns on to it's highest setting when activated and produces enough heat to cause dark paper to begin to smoulder when placed over the top! A fire can start under the right circumstances. RECOMMENDATION: Turn the torch ON, then twist the head as if you were screwing it off, the light will switch off after about a 1/4 turn. The torch cannot be used until you screw the head back on which makes sure it cannot be accidentally activated. Just remember to screw it back on before you go under. Second con: The green led above the switch is quite bright and distracting in total darkness. I used a 3mm (or 4mm?) punch to create a little rubber plug to stick in the hole in the centre of the led. This helped a lot. Recommended if you want a thin beam for signalling, distance and murky water.

Great scuba diving torch. It has a standard camera threaded hole which is very helpful to put the torch on the goodman handle. Also very helpful that it takes 18650 or 26650 batteries. Recommend

Bright sharp beam down at 20 metres but not tried the torch at lower depths.

My third XTAR D26 torch for diving and I just like to have spares for students. Simply operation and very robust. Last two training dives easily on full brightness. I never read the description fully, but it is NOT supplied with a battery.

better than my orca canister light at a fraction of the price and a few friends and now using them. Fantastic as a main light or secondry in UK waters.

The flashlight black paint was removed after one dive without touching anything and no scratches
