Normally, the Ballast has a black and white wire on the input side (AC input side,100-120V for North America). It also has two red and two blue output wires. To bypass this ballast, please cut all the Input and output wires, so total 6 wires cut. 4.Then you can connect the two red wires to the black wire. 5.Next, connect the two blue wires to the white wire. now ballast is bypassed

Easy enough to install (except for crawling around in the hot attic!). Great way to replace expensive and short-lived fluorescent bulbs with regular incandescent or LEDs.
