Great product, but you need a anti slip pad underneath.

The description of this under rug helped me buy this product. It's true to description. It was slightly larger than what I ordered which was good as we had lots of room to work with. We placed the textured side facing UP as we didn't want to ruin our hardwood floors. The under pad creates much more padding under our thin Loloi rug. But the under rug is slippery! Our furniture holds it in place. It's easy to cut with an exacto knife, scissors did not do the trick. I would order again.

The rug pad arrived quickly. It was folded and in a large box wrapped in thick plastic. The creases disappeared as soon as I laid it out flat on the floor. It helps too have another person for a large pad like I had.This nice quality rug pad, but was a lot larger than the 8 x 10' area rug I purchased it to go under. I had to cut it down to size and purchased a very sharp utility knife as many articles recommended, but it just stretched/distorted the felt pad. Out of desperation, I resorted to using a good pair of my sewing shears while I compressed the felt with my hand. This allowed me to cut a clean sharp line. The pad makes the rug feel much more expensive under your feet - very plush. The soft side of the pad goes against the floor and the flat side is to grap the back of your rug, I have my pad on laminate flooring. I may need to use something else that will prevent the pad from sliding. A good quality carpet pad extends the life of your rugs and makes them easier to keep clean. I think the pad is well worth the additional money you spend because the pad will extend the life of your area rug. Mohawk is a brand I have trusted for many years and their quality continues to be among the best when it comes to rugs and related accessories. This rug pad was reasonably priced and the quality was high.

After researching various manufacturers and customer reviews, I settled on this 3/8 thick pad and am very pleased. I had purchased a pre-owned 9X13 wool rug and it was very nice on my hardwood floor, but still lacked some of the plush feeling I wanted, as well as some additional sound proofing. The pad arrived quickly and was nicely folded and protected in plastic package. I was able to quickly roll up the rug, place the pad on the floor ( it laid out very flat with little to no creases), and unroll the run back out. So easy and nicely placed under the rug. Important: This is NOT an anti-slip or coated pad. It is intended to be used UNDER furniture that anchors it safely. Still, my rug is so large that it was not prone to slippage anyway. The new pad provides great protection to the surface of my hardwoods, additional comfort under foot or for sitting on the floor, soundproofing and warmth to the room, and extra life to the wool rug. I am very pleased and will purchase from Mohawk products again in the future.

Does not have grips on the back, so it will move if you don't have furniture on top of the rug holding it down. I thought a 9x12 rug on top would be heavy enough to keep this from happening, but it slides when walking on it. There will be furniture on it after it lays to flatten for a few days, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Otherwise, it's soft, a bit less plush feeling than i expected, but it was one of the cheaper ones I could find so I can't complain. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
