Makes My Ford Explorer Look Tough
These hitches are great. The eyes light up when you press the brake pedal, and they add another indicator that you're about to slow down/stop for the driver behind you. The skull is plastic and the wire was long enough for my 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V6 with the factory tow package. I had the same one 10 or 11 years ago, but it lost an eye light so I ordered this new one as a replacement. The new one is built much heavier than the old one, so it seems the manufacturer may be trying out thicker/heavier designs as the product matures. I wish the nose lit up, but just having the eyes is satisfying enough for my use case.

Perfect for that custom look.
I bought a pair of these to use as turn signals for my Harley Sportster 883 Custom. They look great and are real head turners. They are not meant to be turn signals, so I had to do some wire cutting and splicing, but still came out very nicely. To mount them to the saddlebags, I used the plastic mount that came with them as a drilling template. I also chose not to use the screws that came with them, and instead, threaded the posts on the back of them, then used machine screws to attach. I have an older version, made of metal, mounted on my Honda Rebel that I also wired up as turn signals. I removed the circuit board and leds from it, and installed a pair of amber leds. I also build an aluminum back plate for it, so that I could more easily mount it to the sissy bar. I have another older metal one that I will be using for turn signals on a Honda Shadow VLX 600 Deluxe that I am making into a chopper. The eyes in this one will be red instead of amber. I have also purchased a pair of the black version, that I will be using on the chopper as brake lights, installed on saddlebags like my Harley.

Is made out of plastic, but looks great and is holding up well!
Awesome hitch cover! I'm from Texas, so I figured no ordinary skull would do for me - I wanted a bull skull! Looks great on my 2006 F150. Adds a nice touch to the old boy. I purchased this hitch six months ago and it's held up to our extreme heat very well and has held up to being in weather down to the 10's well too. It is made out of plastic though, so it can be broken pretty easily if you're not careful or get rear ended. But, as far as normal wear and tear goes, it's still in great shape 6 months later! It lights up just as bright as my brake lights do. However, you need to have a four way OEM to hook this bad boy up! Pretty much any truck and some SUV's have 4 way OEMS, but you should check your vehicle first before purchasing. If you don't have a four way, I'm sure you could just hook up the wires from this directly to your brake light wires. EDIT: In June, it finally happened - I was rear ended. Minimal damage, but still left a decent dent in my bumper. My first thought was on if the lady who hit me ruined my hitch cover though. To my surprise, it was not destroyed! The base of one of the horns cracked some, but a little bit of super glue later and it was as good as new. The lady who hit me had no damage to her bumper, except for two little holes, caused by the bull's horns!

Looks good, but is plastic
While tightening one of the screws when assembling this thing, one of the 4 screw mounts broke off. I was just screwing in hand tight. I slid it in, as is, into my trailer hitch. 3 screws should hold it together. The last one I had lasted about 5 years before the plastic broke completely. If I get 5 years out of this one, I will be satisfied. Be careful not to over tighten while assembling.

Great item with some modifications
Product arrived early and in perfect condition. I read a bunch of reviews both good and bad. 1) go ahead and order a 1ft extension. You will most likely need this as to hide the harness and come up near the license plate. I wrapped the harness in black electrical tape. (wally world has one for $4) 2) As there is a circuit board involved, I filled the cavity with silicon sealant so water will not be an issue. 3) as one reviewer wrote, take your time when you attach the screws to the mounts. A little in, back it out a little, then in again. No issues. 4) Have a couple of zip ties handy to secure harness. As one reviewer wrote, this will most likely be a target for theft. I purchased a locking hitch bolt. You could get by with a regular not and bolt. Might deter the common thief. It looks fantastic and functions great. I dinged it 1 star for durability as it is almost all plastic.

Looks cool, but has another feature too!
I hate an empty trailer hitch receptacle, so I wanted to put something cool in there. I like the lights and the skull - kid at heart I guess. I have had one of these on my past 2 vehicles. While looking cool, it also helped out when I was rear-ended at a stop light. My "skully man" was a bit crushed, but my truck was fine. The person that hit me had a huge hole in their grill. They sent me off without any insurance or reports, so I was happy. A few quick clicks later on Amazon, and I have a new one in days. I will always have one on my vehicle going forward. Be safe out there!

Needs improvement
The eyes lights up on brakes and on tail lights but donโt work on turn signals. Cause a quick flash when turn signals are on, also the self check on my 2022 Silverado display an error every time you use the turn signals. But it looks fantastic.
