DEFT 1 gal Deft DFT011 Clear Clear Wood Finish Brushing Lacquer Semi-Gloss

Beautiful finish and drys quick. 30 minutes between coats and not sanding between. The new coat chemically bonds with the prior coat. I've used it for almost 20 years applying to fine furniture and have done commissioned works. I can put 5 coats on in a 1/2 day. Leaves a nice beautiful finish and collects little dust during dry because it drys so fast! Another great feature is that its easy to repair and refinish down the road should that be needed. A little sanding, tack rag and area spray and its invisible without have to refinish the entire pieces. Its called brushing lacquer but I apply using a HVLP sprayer and it works fantastic. Its brushing because it probably has an additive to help leveling but that only makes it easy to spray on and get a perfect coat. I have brushed it on on some quick small projects and it did very well but not as smooth as when sprayed. I have won several woodworking awards using this product sprayed on with HVLP. Its durable ...ive used it on many chairs and it holds up great. Only sold in my area in small spray cans due to environmental restrictions so its great to be able to buy gallons online.

This is an excellent finish for both brush-on or spray. For brush-on, as it drys the brush marks disappear almost like a spray finish. Even though it says “brush on” on the can, it works just fine for my HPLV sprayer with only a 10% dilution with thinner. The finish is crystal clear. And when sprayed on, it is ready for another coat in minutes. For larger projects, by the time I spray the last part the first one is ready to get another coat. With polyurethane, you wait hours or days between coats and the finish isn’t as good. The only down side is that you can get water marks if you put something wet on it, like a glass or cup. If the application is for a kitchen or bath then poly may be the way to go.

I use this for all of my furniture and woodworking projects when It requires lacquer. Very tough and durable. I have always had awesome results with this lacquer, even when using cheap brushes. It's the only lacquer for me! We just finished using it on our new his and hers vanities, and it turned out beautiful. Love it.

Used this product 40 years ago but, have gotten away from it using Poly up until recently. So happy to get back to using Lacquer. I found an old half used rusty can in the shed maybe 15 to 20 years old, it wasn't skinned over, or dried out and still good, used it for a small project and it worked great. This is my go to finish once again.

Works good, has a good shine (after multiple coats) my only complaint is the smell. It’s really strong like you spilled several bottles of nail Polish and remover.

I have been using this lacquer for about 30 years. It is very easy to use, practically can't make mistakes if you follow their directions. Only downside is that it stinks a lot and must be used with lots of ventilation. My only complaint is the shipping method from Amazon. The delivery was good, but the way the can had been PACKAGED by Amazon caused 3 large dents in the can. There was no packing material around the can inside the box, so the can was apparently knocked and bumped around inside the box. Luckily the can stayed closed, did not leak. Could have been a big mess. >>Amazon, do better on your packaging!!

Looks good, applies easy. First rate (lots of smell, be ventilated) product. My semi-gloss was likely a little bit more shinny than I thought it would be. I've seen pure gloss with less shine. It drys quickly and has a perfect thickness (viscosity). I used it on some interior wood window moldings (the surround).

Don’t like because the dry time is very long. You still have to sand in between coats.
