New to solar, start here. Excellent book
Found Will on Youtube and I've learned so much from him already. After watching one or two of his videos, I bought the kindle and paperback versions. Quick read, organized and well written, with great information for this newbie that is fairly ignorant about electricity. The binding/printing of the paperback version leaves a lot to be desired. The first few pages weren't cut correctly and were folded in an odd manner. I had to unfold them and trim them to match the rest of the pages. I suppose I shouldn't expect much from such a low-cost book. The cover is a weird texture...rubbery. Similar to the texture of a rubber band. It's gross and I'm typically not texture sensitive. haha. I'll probably buy the spiral bound version and give the paperback to a friend.

Solar Made Easy Is Right
This book is fantastic. The book has a durable plastic spiral binding, it is only 89 pages long but is packed with good information with little to no fluff. Every paragraph contains the information you need. The book could walk a child through setting up a solar system. The book is well-organized and concise. The order in which the author has laid out the information is perfect, taking you from understanding electricity, calculating power needs, and setting up simple systems to larger systems. It lays out several scenarios from small and simple to large and more complex. He even breaks it down to "Lazy Method, The Minimalist, The Classic 400 Watt, The Off Grid King, and Ultra Lightweight. Great explanations on recommended battery bank size for each of the above scenarios, battery types best suited for solar, wire, and fuse sizes, and installation of same. He takes you through what you must have to what you can do without if money is an issue. I have followed the author on YouTube since I first entertained setting up an emergency solar backup system....he knows his stuff and is enjoyable to watch. I highly recommend subscribing to his channel, DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse. For such a young man, he is the go-to source for all things solar. If you are considering solar, this book is a must and I highly recommend checking out his channel if you are seriously considering doing anything solar.

Great DIY Reference for Building Off-Grid/RV/Emergency Power Systems
I'm in South Central Texas. After our 2021 week long power & other utilities outage in sub freezing weather. I started thinking about emergency power. Good thing I did, because I was marginally ready for our February 2023 ice storm outages. I'm now in the process of upgrading capacity/convenience for more of these situations.I've recently watched perhaps a dozen of Prowse'e videos. He goes quickly through the designs, components, math, etc. But for someone actually going to build a system, his book (in Paperback) is essential. The free Kindle version is nice, but having an actual book, that provides much easier marking, highlighting, notes, more relaxing, and easier to read information is better. At ~$5.00, it's the cheapest, most valuable component of the DIY power system.Besides solar, he also has some attention paid to wind and gas generators as sources. For DIY systems, the emphasis is on the storage capacity in the system. Sun, wind and even gas generators (fuel) are limited sources.I held back one star because I felt there could be worksheet samples, and a few other detail enhancements included, but for $5, it's amazing. I suspect that anyone taking on designing & building off-grid power systems, they should be able to build spreadsheet (Excel) estimates and inventory lists. I happen to be a retired engineer (not electrical), so I know about the estimating and other spreadsheets used... but not all of the readers of this book may have that background.I'd have removed just 1/2 Star, but that isn't available here. After I got my book, I gifted another one to an old buddy jn California, who's also handy with tools, and may have been thinking of emergency power... considering our nationwide weakening/vulnerable energy production & delivery.

this the solar book you need
This great information if you want to go solar. William is a very smart person when it comes to solar. This book is a step by step guide and is easy to follow. The best part is that he has YouTube videos on solar systems. A must read!

Great resource
Will Prowse does an excellent job with this book and his many videos on youtube. Myself I'm hoping to see a Mobile Sokar Power 2.0 published in the near future. The solar technology is advancing at an incredible pace. This is a very well done book though and still relevant.

Goed boek
Duidelijk beschreven, had alleen de plaatjes in het boek in kleur gewild. Is een goed naslag boekje. Ben tevreden. Aan te bevelen voor beginners, zoals ik. Geen communicatie met verkoper.
