Watched the video on how to install the screen protector and followed the instructions. Unfortunately my first try failed as the screen protector trapped a number of big and small air bubbles that I just cannot get rid of them. My son helped to have the second screen protector installed. He was much more careful than I did. After the screen protector was installed, still a number of bubbles were trapped. He managed to eliminate all of them by slowly pushing them to the edge of the screen protector.I then tested my surface pen on the surface with the screen protector and did not notice any difference. The screen responds to the pen sensitively. The lesson that I learned from this is that you should always choose a package with TWO screen protectors so that you will have a backup one in case the first one fails. I had a film based paper-like screen protector for the surface laptop studio before. The film did not stick to the screen well. On top of that, it blocked a lot of light from the screen and made the screen dark. Tried to find another paper-like screen protector for surface laptop studio on amazon and nothing is available, unfortunately. I had no choice but to go with this glass one. Hopefully it will last a long time.
