SpeckProducts Presidio Grip Case for iPhone 8 Plus (Also fits 7 Plus and 6S Plus/6 Plus), Black/Black

These cases are inconsistent in quality. My first I had on my phone for over a year and a half and it just had the normal bumps and scratches you would see from owning a case for that period of time. But when I received this case in the mail and opened it the raised rubber around the screen of the phone was buckling in multiple places and got so annoying it had to be removed within a few days.Maybe the glue on this particular case just did not set correctly but since I have had it for a few more weeks more and more of the rubber inserts and strips around the case have began to peel and come undone. I have only ever had Speck cases on my phones and I trust them and their products but this defective case I received is not up their normal standards.

I received this Speck case on 10/23 and within a week the rubber is already starting to deteriorate. I've been buying speck cases for the last few years, and love them because of the grip they provide, they're sleek and do a great job of protecting the phone. Over the years, i've noticed the quality of the cases has gone down significantly, with each case lasting a little less than the case before. In my experience, once you start to see signs of deterioration, you have another month or so before the rubber strips on the back starts to peel off completely. I continued to buy them since besides the rubber quality issue, it is a great phone case. But i'm really disappointed with the quality of this speck case, it didn't even hold up for a week. Speck, figure out your rubber quality!

Looking for the ideal case for my iPhone 8 plus. This is the third case that I have purchased in the last three weeks. I had been looking for a slim, protective case that was wireless charge capable for the my iPhone 8 Plus and I thought I had finally I finally found what I've been looking for. However, every case that I purchased was slim and protective and was wireless charge capable, but had a number of issues that I did not particularly like. The first one was very slippery and I dropped the phone a couple of times and was concerned that I would eventually drop the phone one too many times. Then, I purchased a clear back case that offered a good grip, but it was a fingerprint magnet and made a effect on the back of the case that just grew larger by the day and made the phone look awful. Then I purchased another similar case, this one had openings on the bottom corners which I thought would prevent the rainbow effect, but it was a waste of money. The two cases are nearly identical and neither eliminated the rainbow effect and both were fingerprint magnets. As such, I had a choice to make, a nice looking case that was very slippery or two cases that were not slippery, but made the back of the phone look terrible.Speck Presidio Grip to the rescue! The case is slim and easily charges wirelessly, The case is very protective, 10 foot drop tested according to their website. It is SUPER grippy, but easily slips in and out of my pocket. Will NOT slide out of my hand and does not slide off the desk or when placed on a slippery table. It is not a fingerprint magnet and the phone looks great with this case. The case offers a raised lip around the screen to protect the screen from drops or if the phone is placed with the screen facing down. The camera lens is protected with another raised lip around the camera lens.After using the case for a few days I have ZERO complaints. This is by far MY FAVORITE case. And my everyday case! I will be giving away the other cases to friends who need a case for their iPhone 7 or 8 plus. I recommend the Speck Presidio Grip case, it is a perfect match for the iPhone 8 plus. When ordering make sure that you order the right case for your phone. Speck makes two Presidio Grip cases which look nearly identical. Although both will fit the iPhone 7 plus and 8 plus the cases are NOT the same. This case is designed for the iphone 8 plus.I'm updating my previous review and I'm removing two stars from my original review and now giving this case only three stars. I thought that I had found the perfect case, but in less than one year of use, the the protective bumper around the case has started to break off. The case has become very flimsy and I no longer have confidence that this case will protect the phone.At the present time I'm looking for a slim protective case for the phone. Sadly, because the case is nice looking and gives a great grip for the phone. I ended up throwing the case away.

I just cannot get enough of the Speck cases. Every year I donate my oldest model phones to friends and they are always astounded that they are in mint condition. I do not baby my phones, they are dropped on NYC sidewalks nearly daily, and I have a baby friend who likes to throw them... (she also finds the gamer grip helpful with teething). I have talked to my friends about these cases until I am blue in the face and they never do it... then when they whine to me about their damaged phones I turn away. It was their choice to not protect it! If someone says I know a product that that will cost you $20 and guarantee no damage to your $1,000 investment, you would get it, right?!?!?! This is the only insurance you need for your phone! It is also very slim, I still marvel at how something so seemingly fine can provide so much protection. I will never be without an iPhone and I will never be without a Speck case. EVER.I decided to add on a little bit more. I accidentally dropped my phone on the ground yesterday and everybody in the room gave that panicked look except for me… I calmly picked up the phone and said I hadn’t needed to worry at all because I knew that it was protected by a phone case that did it’s job well.

Not going to write much on this case. It protected my iphone 8 plus for a year or more and it was my daily driver case. Dropped the phone many times and it did protect it till eventually after numerous drops the screen cracked. The case held up and was beat to the end of life.Wish the case woulda stopped the last drop but i can honestly say the case was on its last legs .I upgraded too the iphone 12 , wanted to get this case for it but opted for only magsafe cases since i use mag accessories. Speck is usually know for decent cases , this isnt bad. Also hard for it to slip GREAT grip all around. When i can will post photos on how well it help up.Blessings.

Love the look and feel of this case, was a bit wary covering up my new 8 plus but this looks really nice.Unlike my clear ultra hybrid this does not show any grease or oil from prolonged used (from fingers) and apparently should resist scratches well.Saw them on other websites but packaging looked questionable, this purchase from Amazon is definitely the genuine item in quality package with speck hologram etc am happy its genuine.Good price at £15.50 when boughtReviews suggest it will not always last a 10 foot drop (youtube has video it survived 2 out of 3) but most people would suffer no more than waist height drops so hoping it will be fine.Will update review if I have any problems after extended use

I actually bought this case back in November 2017, after using a different brand case that I was not satisfied with for my iPhone 8 Plus. My previous phone had an otter box symmetry case, which I was considering getting for my 8 plus, but I found that that case had all the rubber falling off of it and when I dropped that phone, I picked it up to find the screen annihilated. This Speck case is much better. Better quality, better strength, less price. What more can you ask for? I dropped my phone face first in my bathroom just a few days ago and it made a humungous bang. I was expecting to see at least my glass screen protector smashed, but no. The lip design on the case had done its job and my phone is still mint. Really impressed! My only complaint is that dust does gather in the bottom ports, but I would expect that with any case... I’m really happy with this one and would buy again for my next phone for sure

First things first. This case is very good for phone protection. I have dropped my phone many times from 6ft and I haven’t had any dents or problems at all. If you use the Impact Protection screen protector sold by Rhinoshield your iPhone or Android will more or less be crack or dent proof from day to day drops. If you use a Tempered Glass screen protector, then the lip provided by the case will not be sufficient and you will find yourself getting a cracked screen if it’s a screen first drop.Durability of the case:The case has an issue when it comes to durability, the prisidio grip in particular. The rubber grip section on the back of the case rubs against your pocket and eventually will start to peel of and then your case will begin to look cheap.In addition, the rubber material that goes around the charging port and speakers starts to go weak. The rubber around the front of the case also starts to peel. On the other hand, the volume and lock buttons are very clicky and responsive.I would definitely recommend this case as it’s got very good drop protection. But expect to replace the case once a year or 6months, depending on how often you drop your phone because the case gets drop marks relatively easy.

I ordered this brand because I had previously had a speck iPhone case sent to me by Apple as part of the whole bumpers drama on my iPhone 4. I had the handset and case for over 3 years and the case looked like new when I traded the phone in. It felt like great value and quality so that’s why I trusted the brand again.So there’s a kind of “ribble” design going on, which having only seen the case online or in good condition, I had no idea these are inlaid rubbery bits which are easily damaged. The back of the case is all tatty. I also have had cause to remove my SIM cards a couple of times due to overseas travel. The rubber material which lines the edge of the screen has become all broken up by this simple action and getting the handset back into the case is a joke.I’m really very disappointed, it’s totally undermined my faith in the brand and quality, which I previously had an incredibly high impression of.

Pro:Genuine 8 plus case (not 7 plus/8 plus) so has decent protective lip round screen.Great finish - protects and comfortable to use.Con:Has a basic design flaw in that the plastic internal frame around the left speaker breaks up within a couple of months of use. I've had two of these cases now (one from Amazon and one direct from the manufacturer) and both have had exactly the same problem.
