Now 17 years is a long time, so I was OK with the prospect of needing to buy a new dryer. However as a last ditch effort I searched the web for possible causes why the dryer might have stopped working, for no apparent reason. A few YouTube trouble shooting tutorials later I had determined that the dryer's thermal fuse had blown. Since the repair looked relatively straight forward I figured I would get the replacement parts and give it a try. I figured for under $15 why not, and the GARP solution look like a good replacement option (was looking for a LA-1053 kit). With Prime the kit arrived in two days.
