SpigenTough Armor [2nd Generation] Designed for iPhone 8 Case (2017) / Designed for iPhone 7 Case (2016) - Black

6-Month Update: Still going strong and looks like new even after a few tumbles and falls.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------So I just got my new iPhone 8 from work and wanted a slim, modern and quality case ASAP. Tried the Otterbox type in the past, but as great as they are at protection they are ugly, too bulky,blocky and blah for such a sleek new phone in my opinion. Anyways, after an hour or two of Amazon searching and review browsing (least amount of 1-2 star reviews) I decided to pick up 3 of the top contenders to compare side-by-side.They included the Spigen Tough Armor, the Caseology Parallax Series Caseology Parallax Series iPhone 7 / 8 Cover Case with Design Slim Protective for Apple iPhone 7 (2016) / iPhone 8 (2017) - Black / Deep Blue and the Nicexx Case with Kickstand. Nicexx [2018 updated] iPhone 8 Case / iPhone 7 Case with Kickstand and Slim Reinforced Drop Protection [8 ft. Grade Drop Tested], Shockproof for Apple iPhone 8 (2017) / iPhone 7 (2016) - (Black)In the end I picked the Spigen Tough Armor. It has a sleek modern design, metal backplate insert, nice thick protective corners with raised screen lip, metal kickstand and stylish flush buttons. Overall, it just feels great in the hand, and has a great combination of soft and hard touch materials. Construction feels reliable and the Apple cutout on the back is a great look!The second best IMO is the Caseology Parallax Series. It felt well built, semi-soft materials with a really nice modern case back design, but a bit thinner protection overall than the Spigen on the corners and screen lip. It lacks the kickstand which wasn't a huge deal but again, I prefered the angular and flush button design of the Spigen.Last place for me was the Nicexx case with Kickstand. Not sure how it has 100% 5-star reviews, but something fishy is up there for sure. It feels cheap all-around, not much protection on the corners or for the screen, and the kickstand is not flush on the back so the phone teeter-totters if laid on its back. The case looks nice, but that's about all it had going for me, felt like it would crack easy on any real drop or bump and the kickstand would snap off for sure.See the pictures for side-by-side comparison of the three cases and close up details of each.

I had used Otter Box for years and didn't like slim cases when I held other people's phones. My Otter Box got all ratty on the rubber again so I took a shot on the dark and got this one. Love it. It is a great fit and has good design to feel secure in your hand, and the little kickstand is a quality addition. I'm probably going to use it for years.

Ordered for iPhone8. It fits perfectlyl Holes and buttons line up. Nice lip around front edge that protects screen when face down and works with screen protector. I’ve had silicone/ hard plastic combos before which were a bit bulky but this is sort of hard rubber for inner black part and silver is plastic. It’s sleek, slim and understated but clean and smart looking and has protected my phone for couple drops from 3-4’ onto tile floor. Back stand is firm and snaps back in tight but I can see with a lot of use it might loosen up or could easily be snapped off by accident but on only use that rarely. If you like the look of it online I think you will love it when you get it. Great price for quality product!

This is a great phone case! I've updated my review because I've used this case daily for about 6 months.The pros:- Looks very slick, especially compared to other protective phone cases- Lightweight and doesn't make the phone much bigger- Definitely protects your phone; I'm very clumsy and drop mine all the time and this case has indeed kept it safeThe cons:- Kickstand feels a bit flimsy and cannot support the phone upright (in the photo, it uses a base, which imo is misleading.)- Color degrades. May not be an issue for the black version but it is definitely a problem for the champagne. However, I don't think it's noticeable unless you look closely- I liked the minimalist buttons, but often find myself fumbling to try and actually press themOverall after nearly 6 months of using this as my sole phone case I am very satisfied.

My iPhone 8 was my workhorse after I gave my 6 to my wife. Then I bought a pair of 13 Minis last Christmas for my wife and I. And I swear, I still think my 8 is faster loading and running apps than my 13. I prefer it overall, EXCEPT the 13 has such an amazing camera!But I'm here to talk about the case.And the Spigen Tough Armor is one amazing case!I was looking for a tough case for my 13. I normally prefer the Twelve South BookBook cases, but I knew that I would be using the 13's camera so much that their case just wouldn't be the one this time. I was also concerned about back protection as my 8's glass back had shattered and I had no idea how that had happened. This review, and several others, rated the Spigen Tough Armor very highly.And I bought it.Shipping was very fast, which I appreciated. The fit is excellent on both my 13 Mini and my 8, there is no danger of the phone coming out of the case without intent. And they are very well-protected. Initially, I thought the case was a little bit slick and could use some texturing, but I've changed my mind on that score. I perhaps would still like some texture on the sides, but I can live without it.Excellent case. I will definitely be giving Spigen serious consideration for future case needs.

Nice case

It's an older style case with the cutout for the Apple logo on the back. Since I have a 2022 iPhone SE, it shows blank space. However, I've been using a variety of cases since the iPhone 7.This one is thicker than most and seems very strong. I used to buy a brand that no longer creates cases for this phone design and I used to be able to throw my phone without a problem. This case is probably just as good, but I'm less willing to test it, especially for the price.It's better than its price would suggest.
