My car battery dies after a few days if my car is not used; (3 days of diagnoses could not find the reason); this remote controlled device solved the problem. Installing it was not a breeze but not that difficult either. It came with two remotes. The battery on #1 lasted a few years. I could not find any information on battery replacement but it takes two (stacked) Lithium CR2016 batteries; they are encased in black plastic and slide out once you unscrew the top. Can recommend this item if you want to keep your battery disconnected when car if not in use, or for safety reasons. update: I have had this device since 2022 and it still works. Recently I encountered a problem. The remote showed no signs of losing power and still flashed red when pressed. However, there was no response from the car and the battery seemed to be dead. I spent a lot of time trying to recharge the battery but nothing seemed to work. Testing the car battery charge it was fully charged. I thought the unit had failed but I finally tried it with the second remote and that worked and I could start the car. I replaced the batteries in the nonworking remote and it started working again. So, even if the remote flashes red, it may not have the power to operate the cutoff switch. Hope this might save you some time and frustration should you encounter a similar problem.

Need a kill switch that will help you prevent the battery from going bad or maybe someone trying take your car in the middle of the night ? Well shoot come on down and get yourself one of these bad boys. Of course this isn’t your Glock switch now but it’s a switch that will save you money and catching a case at the same time. I set this up on a 96 civic took me 5 min and smoke break to do it. The cool part comes with a remote that lets you turn it on or off like driving one those bougie euro cars any who they don’t pay me for this review but it sure is a honest one. Go ahead give it try

Great project easy installation

I installed this Kill swith, in my 2013 Ford C-Max, using the Positive or Red post. The Terminal with the Black wire did not reach the car body so I left it on the positive post with clamp and switched the Black blade from 86 to 85 so the color wires are wrong and the Red blade goes 85 to 86 then the red wire goes to the cars body. Back to the Kill Switch Positive post 30 with nut is placed on the Positive or Red post. The Negative or Black post is now connected to the original cable that was on the Battery post. This took an hour to figure out where to place the original Positive post hookup because it is about 2 inch tall, by 2 inch wide, and about 3 inch long.
