Great product! Really helps!
I've been using this neti pot for over a year now and have to say that it really works great. My breathing is easier through my nose and my sinuses feel much more clear throughout the day. I don't feel bogged down by my allergies nearly as much. This particular neti pot is well-constructed and easy to use. I've had other neti pots that had odd angles or were made of cheap materials and were uncomfortable to use, but this one is glass and seems to have a great angle to it. Of course, being glass, it's easily broken, so that is one thing to consider. For the new Neti Pot users, a couple of things to take note of: The mixture: Using warm water with a 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized salt is best. Obviously, cold water does not feel good and using table salt or too little/too much salt creates a horrible sensation. One time, I forgot to add salt and I sneezed all day long and my sinuses were extremely irritated. A grocery store near me sells cheap jars of salt specially for neti pots. I've also seen special oils you can add, but haven't tried them (I've also read about loss of your sense of smell from some oils, so be sure to do your research on them before using!). Actual use: Basically, the neti pot works by gently pouring a stream of water through your sinuses, so you tilt your head and pour through one nostril so the stream comes out the other. The one thing I make sure to do after each use is to blow my nose to get the excess water out and then I have a bottle of rubbing alcohol that I dab a q-tip in and run over the inside of my ear. I've found that the water from the neti pot often gets into my ear and I've even had it cause some irritation over time. Ever since I have been trying to dry the excess water up with the rubbing alcohol, there have been no problems. Of course, not everyone will have this issue. Also, if you are too clogged up, the water from the neti pot isn't going to go anywhere. It'd probably be best to take some medication to try to loosen the clog and then use the neti pot. Overall, the neti pot is a wonderful product for anyone who has trouble with allergies or their sinuses. It's not something you use as a quick fix for colds or sinus issues. Like I said before, it doesn't do anything if you are too clogged. It's great for those with constant allergies and mild congestion though. Used daily over a long period of time, it seems to have really helped me out.

Better then most I have tried.
I like how it works, feels like it moisturizes you sinus. Seems to feel more natural no side affects. More so then others I have used. I recommend it. But may not be for everybody.

Crazy but it works
After first hearing about the practice of Neti Pot, I was slow to jump on the bandwagon. It sounded pretty strange and uncomfortable. However, I have suffered from allergies and congestion for about ten years and I eventually warmed up to giving it a try. I could not be more glad I did. The practice helps me breath better than any decongestant or allergy medicine ever has. And the nice thing is there are no side effects from taking any medicine. It really goes into the depths of your sinuses and opens them up. Usually, using it once every couple days is about right for me. Spring is coming though and that is when my allergies tend to make me very miserable. I'm prepared to use it quite a bit more often through the spring. As far as this particular model, it is well made and I like that I can just throw it in the dishwasher to clean it. It definitely seems a lot better than the plastic ones that are sold in drugstores. For the water, make sure you use distilled water or boil it yourself ahead of time. I personally just boil a pot of tap water and store it in a jug. It lasts several uses before I need to replenish. For the salt, cheap Morton salt seems to work just fine. If you have any type of chronic problem with sinuses, allergy or other, I would definitely give it a try. In fact I'm hoping you will. There is a bit of a learning curve but after about 5 tries or so you should get the hang of using it and it will become very simple.

Mostly Great, With One Caveat
The Ancient Secrets Neti Pot appears to be well made. It's heavier than the plastic neti pot I've used for years, but it's not unwieldy. The handle is easy to grip (altho slippery when wet), & the spout is sized well & easy to get a good seal. Altho it doesn't have a lid (which my plastic neti pot does), it has a wide lip across the top that is perfectly positioned to keep water from pouring out over the top while in use; I had no problems with it leaking. And of course, it's not plastic, which is a plus, altho it would be more fragile to travel with (which I probably won't). The reason I gave it 4 stars vs 5 is that it holds exactly 8 oz, which means it's impossible to mix the saline solution in the neti pot. With my previous one, I could pour the saline packet in, add warm distilled water, screw on the lid, swirl it around, & it was ready to use. You can't do that with this neti pot; you have to heat the water & mix the solution in another clean container (which will then need to be washed), & then pour it into the neti pot (which will also need to be washed). Not a huge deal, but definitely not as convenient. If this neti pot were 25% larger, or had a lid, it would definitely rate 5 stars*.

Best Neti Pot on the market
If you have allergies or want to avoid catching other people's cold or flu, then this neti pot is the best one on the market because of its shape and material its made of. The shape fits perfectly over your nostril so that you can flush your nose and sinuses. It's easy to hand wash after every use. This is the one I think that was demonstrated on Oprah by Dr. Oz. At least it looks just like it. Ever since I started using this neti pot, I have not caught any colds or flu despite being around sickly people. I have given several of these to friends and family and they are now as devoted to the neti pot as I am. Most people give up too easily or don't know how to properly use the neti pot. Check out videos on youtube to see how to use one properly. You need to tilt your head to the side and use warm water with a pinch of salt. Also, when you first start your sinuses may be blocked up. Don't give up. Many times during the year, my sinuses are blocked. I use it every night no matter what. Even though it may not drain on one side, you will find that 10 minutes after using the neti pot, that your sinuses will clear up. Germs generally invade when your nasal passages become dried out. So doing this once a day, helps keep your sinuses moist so they can trap the germs. Lastly, germs actually take hours to penetrate our natural defenses. This is why flushing your sinuses once a day helps keep you healthy all year round.

A little bizzare but strangely recommended
I finished Dr. Oz's book, You Staying Young, and felt that it was very informative and very funny in his irreverent writing style and illustrations. So when he described the Neti Pot, it made sense but seemed inspired by a Dave Letterman guest demonstration in their 5 minutes of embarrassing fame; pouring water in one nostril and having it flush through to the other. My only thought was of getting chlorinated pool water lodged in my sinuses and feeling like my head was at high tide all day. But, wanting to relieve some occasional allergy symptoms and also getting some grist for quirky dinner conversation I sent for this product. Locking the bathroom door securely lest anyone see me tipping a gravy boat into my nose and keeping the cell phone close should dialing 911 become necessary, I lifted the device with apprehension. The angle of attack is crucial or you'll find the draining water running down your face, chin and neck, like drinking a coffee before the dentist's anesthesia wears off. But once the fine adjustments are made the irrigation is both simple and painless. I haven't noticed any therapeutic benefits yet and I still feel foolish doing it even though my beta fish is the only observer. But it does make logical sense since here is where nasty air borne micro-things get intercepted and lodged and warm salted water should both clean and soothe irritation. So I recommend allergy sufferers to give it a try. Just don't forget yourself while passing the gravy boat next Thanksgiving dinner and suffocating on a meat giblet.

Great shape and design
Love this neti pot! Purchased my previous one from a different platform and it lasted for years till i had a few accidental knocks on the sink. Was looking everywhere for this brand as the design, make and volume is just perfect. I use this every day! The design allows for easy handling and the spout is the perfect size for easy flow of water into the nostrils. Highly recommend!
