Read this for mounting adjustability details.
Having a second water bottle mounted to my dropper seat post, with the post in the down position, there is no place to mount a tail light on my seat post or seat rails, so I started looking at angle adjustable tail lights that I could mount to the seat stay. I am already running LED wheel lights for lateral visibility, that use 2 x AAA batteries, and I previously bought a 100 pack of Amazon basics AAA batteries, so getting the CatEye Omni 5 was a no-brainer. You can mount it vertically or horizontally by unclipping it from the mount and rotating it 90 degrees and re-instering it into the mount. The bracket has 10 detents, which rotate over a 90 degree arc (+/- 45 degrees from perpendicular to mounting bar). I also tried mounting this on the kickstand. It works perfectly fine there as well, and would for sure keep you from hitting it with your foot. When mounted to the seat stay, there is a small chance you could clip this with your foot in an emegency dismount, especially if you mount it horizonatally instead of vertically. A forceful kick would likely break the clip-in mechanism, ruining the mount. The +/- 45 degrees mounting adjustability is not quite enough angle to have the beam parallel to the road, so the beam is angled upwards about 10-15 degrees. The rearward visbility is still very good, even though it noticably less bright that when staring directly into the focal point of the LED beam. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the mounting flexibility, the build quality and the brightness. I can not comment on the durability yet, but I wanted to get this positive review out sooner, rather than later. Even if the battery life falls short of the advertised 60 hours for continuous on, I will not be disappointed, because a set of batteries in my wheel lights only last for ~6 hours of continuous on, and I routinely carry 4 extra AAA batteries in my bike bag.

Nice, sensible light with flexible mounting options
Nice, bright, reliable light. I have a tool bag under the seat of my bike, so I like the option of mounting this on the bar that goes from the rear axle to the seat. I also like the sensible battery operation. So much easier to just pop in a new battery rather than have to take the light off and find a USB charger. I also find the operating modes very sensible. These lights with multiple modes are annoying to me - why do I need seven blinking options? This light has three - steady on, slow flash, and rapid flash. And then when you turn it off it remembers your last mode so you don't have to toggle through a bunch of modes to find what you want.

Affordable Bright Light That's Easy to Install
My old light broke somehow broke apart. Since the Cateye light is good, affordable, and easy to install, I got another one to replace the broken one. It arrived quickly, and it's ready to mount on my bike.

Great “random flash” rear bike light for really high viz!
Great rear bike light. Press & hold to turn on in random strobe LED mode (high viz). Quick press to toggle modes or press & hold to turn off. Comes with seat post mount & belt clip (which I used to attach to my saddle bag).

Great light for commuting, or any nighttime riding
I bought two of these light for my commuter and have been very happy with it. It's suitably bright and visible, particularly when using the pattern flashing. Plus, it has a solid mode for those times you're riding in a group (never, ever have your taillight on blink in a group). Since it uses AA batteries, it's easy to get the light running again if the batteries were to die. I just carry a couple extras with me. The mount is what makes this light, though. The twist-down mount is hands-down my favorite for tail lights. The mount itself is fully articulating, so you can easily mount it anywhere and point it in the optimal direction. I have one mounted vertically on the left seat-stay near the dropout. The clip mount also works great, and I have the second light hanging off the loop of my commuter backpack. Bright, good mounting options, easy maintenance that won't leave you stranded. You can't go wrong.

Protect yourself riding with a rear flashing light.
Great light, that has (3) different modes of LED's flashing or constantly lit. Fits well under the seat and like the horizontal layout, so it doesn't interfere with the seat and provides a clear view that is unobstructed to vehicles traveling from behind. Highly recommend. Batteries last a very long time before needing to be replaced. LED's don't burn up the battery power. More expensive USB rechargeable systems are not worth the extra dollars.

Was a bright light.... was.
Let me preface this by stating perhaps I just got a defective light but mine lasted just shy of four and half months. I went to change the batteries today and felt that it wasn't as bright as it used to be even with new batteries. So I put a fresh set of batteries in it and went to turn it on. However, now only one LED will illuminate tried putting in the old batteries same thing. So this light is no longer working and I'm trying to decide if it's worth returning or not. Up until it died I was reasonably happy with it. It was bright enough to be seen during midday as well as at night. The light seemed to hold up just fine to rain, road spray and splashes. It was really great on batter and I only needed to change the batteries twice. That includes all the times I forgot it was on and went into class or into a shop. I always wonder how visible it was at distances over a standard block. I loved the rapid flash mode one of the best flashing modes I've seen. Pros +Bright light +Great battery life +Great flashing mode Cons -Might not be very visible at a distance -Died after four months

Bright, easy, effective. Safe!
Awesome bike light. Easily carry spare batteries with you, but lasts a long time (80+ hours of riding) between changes. Waterproof through rain and snow. Few different flashing modes, but nice and bright and lots of visibility from all angles. Easy to mount and move between bicycles/backpacks etc
