I picked this up for its light weight and small form factor and I’m not disappointed. I’ve been able to use this on a range of smaller film jobs. It’s super easy to take out of the bag and start using immediately. The legs extend easily and the fluid head rotates with ease making this a nice sturdy easy to use tripod.

The value is unbelievable. $60 ('sale price')for a tripod with this much functionality and sturdiness is superb. Build quality is good where it matters - like the tripod legs and metal components. Other items have a cheaper plastic feel, like the knobs that adjust the ball head. I love the cleverness of the three 1/4-20 connections built into screws where the legs fold. What a great surprise for me to uncover. For the price, SmallRig has clearly prioritized putting money into the right areas.One con is that as delivered, the ball head did not have smooth range of motion. It would get stuck while moving or rotating it instead of having a fluid motion. This worried me a lot, as that's one of the most important factors of a good ball head tripod. I moved it through all positions to troubleshoot and found extra material on the very bottom of the ball, it looked like dried superglue :/. I was able to scrape off ~2/3s of the material and the ball head started moving much better. I would have returned it if this quality issue persisted.

This is a very good tripod at any price, and an outstanding one at THIS price. I've been using it for 6 mos and nothing has loosened up. If you are looking for a quality tripod, start here. Super light strapped to my camera bag!

Pros: Nicely made with metal aluminum legs and with extras like the rubber or spike ends for different terrain locations. Very nice Swiss Arca plates! Thick and well made. The ability to flip the legs in the opposite direction for extra low shots (Upside down) under and in the middle of the lower leg extension's are genius!Pros: Ball head is nice. Smooth and locks well. Cons: The lower legs in my opinion are too thin. I would not trust this tripod with my $3k lens and my $3k body at full extension. I have other small cameras which will be perfect with this tripod. It also shakes a bit on a windy day - the weight I use locks it down better and prevents wiggle. Overall it's "decent" in my opinion. I'll use it, but my heavy duty tripod will still be used during times I use my larger camera.

I love this tripod! I can use it for all of my needs for creating content for social media, UGC, and recording demo reels. I also have a galaxy z fold 7 and with a case on it the phone becomes thick. The accessory for holding phones is the only one I can find that can fit mine with a case on. The built in leveler is incredibly helpful when setting up the tripod on different surfaces. I can also fit my Insta360 ace pro 2 on this without any issues.

I am using for both taking photos with my iPhone and using my telescope viewer. It has two base attachment so I can swap quickly.One thing to be aware of: I was adjusting it in the dark while taking aurora photos (or attempting to) and it came apart. I tried to put together on the dark but one piece was not able to go back on. Strangely enough, the post had come off during the initial breakdown which I had not noticed in the dark.I had to remove the top, remove the attaching post and put the collar on, then replace the post before screwing the top piece back on. (This will make sense if you are fighting with this problem)Now I am using it with pleasure, easy adjustments, smooth turning.

Returning this after 20 minutes. of use The build quality is deceptive: looks decent but closer examination proves that half of the nuts are on backwards, so you alternate loosening or tightening when screwing to the right. The ball-head cannot even hold itself upright for 10 minutes, as evidenced by the level drift with absolutely nothing on it. The phone holder is nice that it screws tight rather than using suspension, though the extremely cheap plastic used for it does not reflect the price point.The deal-breaker occurred when testing the monopod feature, which was bare minimum sufficing since it lacks any feet with grip. When converting it back to a tripod, I discovered that the plastic nut inside the column lock (attached to the legs) had swelled tight since releasing the inner column, and now the column cannot be reinserted. I tried everything, but there is nothing further to adjust, the column is just now too wide in diameter to ever fit back into the tripod legs.Manual instructions are first, and foremost, in Chinese (English on the backside), in the tiniest print and unhelpful. Item is brand new on the market at a higher cost, and yet somehow is the highest sold in its category? The color scheme and aesthetic design is a blatant ripoff of a Manfrotto, and yet not even remotely close to the reliability of even a lower end (but okay) brand like Neewer. And to boot, the entire thing is covered in slimy pizza grease. Clearly, the people assembling this did not wash their hands after coming back from lunch. My hands stink of it after multiple washes.The only pro about this thing is that it's lightweight, and you can suspend a weight under it with the hook. That's it. Everything else is either nonfunctional, obsolete or broken.I tried SmallRig on a whim, and I am so impressed with their inferiority that I am convinced to forsake such a garbage brand indefinitely. I am most angry that this company is contributing to landfills all over the globe. This is, by far, the worst tripod or monopod I have ever tried in my 15 years of video production.

This is a great little tripod for travelling as it packed into my suitcase easily. It's lightweight and versatile

Right out of the box I can feel the better build quality compared to the last one I bought a fair bit more expensive $60 to be exact but the functionality of it is so much better.Looks better, feels better, opens better. A reasonable weight that makes you feel it is a good quality but not too heavy.If it stands up as a quality tripod, being that I am writing this immediately after receiving it and setting it up I can say this is a much better value. Super tall too almost reaches the roof of my room full size.You can get by with common sense of unpacking and setting it up time after time I can tell. The last one I bought came with a manual that had basic functions of all knobs but then had a page dedicated to breaks alone. It is much more worth it to pay for this one if you have the choice.
