Improves texture, appearance, color in a way that normal healing cannot
Recommend this to anyone who has gotten a scar to help its appearance. How this worked for me was that it minimized the red pigmentation that my scar left behind extremely quickly and improved the texture and appearance in a way that simply leaving the scar alone wouldn't have. Maybe the best way to describe it is to say that it helps scar tissue blend in with normal skin in texture and appearance. I have recommended this to many friends and all of them agree that it helped minimize the appearance and hyperpigmentation. -I fell onto concrete and got scrapes on my face. The scars were distinctly pink. It took 2 weeks to remove the discoloration. Now, I have trouble telling where those scars are-they pretty much look like skin. -Friend got a gash on her face and the scar dipped in and was red. She was so embarrassed and tried to cover it with bangs. After using this product, the scar is still dipped into the skin but the redness has completely subsided. It took her a month. I think her scar ended up too deep for the product to completely "level" the skin, but she's extremely happy with the result. -Friend is a cook and got multiple burns and scars from her or people around her being careless with knives, fire, or boiling oil. She is not good at using this as frequently as she should be but she has noted an improvement in the appearance and believes that it would help if she was more proactive about applying it.... ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ -Friend is prone to hyperpigmentation and uses this on all scars to minimize the appearance. The cap with the bristle is useless. The product clumps up in the bristles and application becomes difficult. Instead, keep the red stopper and original cap and apply this almost as if it's a rollerball perfume, being careful to leave a layer and not to spill product. It smells pretty bad but the smell goes away in a minute or two. Apply to an area wider than the scar because the edges will fray up. I've found that makeup application over the dried layer is pretty much impossible. I instead put a bandage on my cheek to keep the film in place while going about my daily activities and in 2 weeks, the scar appearance had minimized to my liking. I applied two times a day, morning and before sleep. Do not apply on wounds that are still healing-wait for scabs to come off too. I've found that leaving the scab on for as long as possible helps improve the appearance and texture too. I always keep a spare bottle on hand so that if I get hurt, I can use it on the very first day that the wound heals completely!

Scars looking much better- and pimples healing faster!
I'm about to order my 4th bottle. Another reviewer said to keep and use the small, red plug and cap without the brush that it comes with, and I completely agree. The red plug will keep the product from drying out inside the bottle (it will definitely dry up in the bottle the more it is exposed to air.) Another person said that when you use this stuff you will find flakes all over your house- So true! I am sweeping them up all the time. Anyways, how it works- I have acne scarring, and used silicone scar sheets for about 2 years straight before turning to this product. Silicone sheets work best if you keep them on for 24/7- not something you can do on your face, so you sleep with them, and talk about finding things everywhere! I was always looking for them in my bed! Stuck to my pillow, stuck to my hair..stuck to my sweeties body!!! So weird. And I didn't really see results from them that I wanted. After trying this product, I've noticed a lot of improvement! It seems to be softening the sharp edges of my scars, and some of my shallow scars are completely gone. My skin in general seems to be better. It's not 100% but there is enough improvement so far that I want to keep going. I apply it every night, and scrub it off in the morning. I actually put lavender EO on my face, then evening primrose oil, then my Skinmedica Retinol, THEN I apply the Scarguard on top of my scarred areas. It dries even on top of all my other products. In the morning, it takes a bit of scrubbing to get it off, but its worth it. AND- the best thing about it that I have noticed...It seems to speed up healing of pimples!! It stings like a mofo, but it definitely makes pimples heal up in only a few days (and so far any zits I have covered with this have healed without a scar, and redness seems to disappear faster too!) Wish I had discovered this years ago when I had bad acne.

Great idea that seems to work but tiny amount
this stuff is a great idea but it dries a bit too fast at least in dry Los Angeles, flakes off too easy after applying and it's too tiny a quantity. I'd get it again if it wasn't such a small amount though, did seem to actually work.

Great product
I had mohs surgery on my face a few months ago. Had a follow-up with my dermatologist a couple of weeks ago & he recommended this product to me. I've been using it for a little over a week & I couldn't be happier. I have been applying it twice a day as recommended & I am already seeing great results. I have read many reviews mentioning the smell. Yes it smells like nail polish remover, but only for a few seconds & then it goes away. The scar I am applying it to is on my face not too far from my nose & it doesn't bother me at all. I have also read some reviews saying it flakes. I have not had that problem at all. When I remove it in between applications, I just put a piece of tape over it & pull it off. Simple as that. I highly recommend this product to anyone trying to reduce the appearance of a scar on their face after having mohs surgery.

stops applying well after 2 weeks
Had a complete thyroidectomy on Nov 4 2015 incision stitches came out on Nov 13th 2015.so I began using this product everyday .I noticed after 2 weeks the product after applying does not dry well and does not stick to scar which seems half way thru the bottle. My guess air and applying lessens the product. Took more times of painting over the scar to get a good seal.my scar is only 2 inches.I thought for the amount they charge I should at least get a month but after two weeks it became kinda of gummy.it was kept in an area that was cool and dark to have more shelf life .had to switch to vitamin E wanted to keep using this but not happy with how fast it started becoming gummy and hard to stay on after 2 weeks. UPDATE FEB 14 2016 I decided I liked how this worked the first 2 weeks so i bough it again from another online retailer it applied much thinner and has lasted alot longer without turning gummy and thick like this purchase I commented about.I am 3 months and a week post surgery.I bought 2 bottles after this amazon purchase just because I felt I got an old bottle or it sat around for awhile .the new bottles from another supplier are lasting longer apply easy and stay on for 24 hours without peeling.Just wanted to give it another try and I am glad I did it does work.my opinion is the bottle was old stock or old supply and it was gummy and did not apply well and had to be tossed

Works on face scar
I've used the other scar silicone but problem is they just stay soft and rub off. I have a scar on my nose and have been suing scar guard for around 5 weeks. I like to put 2-3 layers on and leave it for 24 hours then replace with new layers. I've noticed considerable improvement on with my scar. Yes, this stuff has a strong smell at first kinda like nail polish.... But once it dries in a minute it's gone. Also I just use my pinky finger to dap on scar and I kept the red stopper and put that back on bottle and cap when done. I have a feeling this will dry out faster if you don't. I've taken showers and it remains on scar which I like. Doesn't come off when sleeping. When u want it off it peals off easy. I don't wear makeup but I can image makeup on it might look weird. However, I go out on public with it on and you can't notice. I still have a lot left in my bottle so probably don't have to buy for for months. Glad I found this stuff because I was getting depressed and frustrated with the other scar products out there

Makes a true difference
This stuff is fantastic! I've used many other highly rated scar products but nothing comes close to what scarguard has done for me. Almost a year ago I was attacked and left with a thick, raised, five inch scar on my forearm. Since the first day I was okayed to do scar treatment I've been doing everything I could to reduce the appearance of my scar. Having to attend court is enough reminder of my attacker without the bright red scar that gets me stares everywhere I go. Since I started using scarguard I've noticed a significant improvement. Every other product I used made a subtle difference that gave me tiny bits of relief but using this has been such a dramatic difference. My scar is no longer raised a third of an inch nor is bright red anymore. It is now almost completely flush with my skin and it is more pink in appearance. The brush on scar treatment started helping so quickly that I noticed a difference after just the first week. I was so happy that I cried, no shame. My advice is that if you are worried about your scar's appearance or you get panic attacks or terrible looks from others because of it like I did then use this. I wouldn't be writing this if it hadn't made such a difference for me, and I've only been using it for a month. I'd say to only brush on one layer otherwise you could make it too thick and it'll peel up faster. Also, keep whatever area your scar is on straight and don't let anything rub against it for about five minutes after applying. It only takes one minute to dry, but if you're like me and your scar is near an area that bends or moves lots then it will peel up faster. I've found that applying and keeping my arm still and uncovered for roughly five minutes insures the treatment won't peel or crack for about eight-nine hours. There is no need to peel the first layer off when you reapply though you can. I peel it off before reapplying because it itches having the loose part still on but I know that it doesn't do that to everybody. Use twice a day and you'll start seeing impertinent impressively fast.
