Size claims
I received these yesterday and because they seem a little too large, I will wear them around the house for a while. Looking at my Sketcher shoe sizes which are size 12 W, I first ordered these 12 wide. Way too big. I felt like a clown and tripped several times with them on. So, I returned them and ordered theses 11 W. Still they seem to be a tad too large but I will keep them for now. Next time I will first try the 10 W or 10 1/2 W if available. No matter, they must be the wide size. NOTE: I retired from the Air Force and the last few years of my career, I wore these kinds of boots. I really like the style, BUT, these ARE NOT the real thing, far from it. The real ones would cost much more, would be triple threaded on the seams, and have the official U.S. tag in them. None the less, these will do. I will keep them. I had to put foam padding in side as these are as hard as bricks to your foot. If you don't, good luck. Since putting double strips of padding in mine, it makes them now feel something like the real thing. Much of comfortable.

Weird sizes
Sizing is a bit weird, bought one that's smaller than my normal size and is still too big. Otherwise awesome boot

Decent boot for insanely wide feet but corners were cut during manufacturing
If you have feet that measure wider than the "4E" option many companies offer this boot does a pretty good job of handling your flippers. I measure from toe to heel as an 10.5 or 11 US but constantly have to buy 2 or 3 sizes higher just to accommodate the width. 13 wide worked for me. It is a little long in the toe and I probably could have gotten away with a 12.5 wide but it isn't offered. Either way, the construction of the boot is overall very good. The boots do have the updated "Panama" sole making it easier to slick mud out of the grooves by stomping on hard ground or with a stick. If you aren't familiar with Vietnam era Jungle boots, these are not water proof. Instead they feature a drain grommet in the sides that will push water out with every step. If you intend to use these for hiking or rucking be sure to pair these with quick drying socks. They also do NOT come with any sort of insole so you will have to add your own, which in my case is a benefit considering the price of the boots is low and I usually toss the pair of insoles for my favorites either way. The most unforgivably lazy manufacting practice in this boot is the lack of washer backings in the eyelets. From the factory, both boots simply had their eyelet grommets folded into themselves with the press dye. This leaves an unfinished, sharp metal surface friction fit into the leather holes, which will pop out easily when the laces are tightened. After 3 months of use they frayed the included boot laces. Since the other aspects of the boot met my standards I opted to replace the eyelets entirely myself, (Pictured on the left boot, right boot still has the OEM eyelets). Additionally none of the exposed leather surfaces have been treated with a tragacanth gum and those ends will fray after a few uses. I would like to give these boots at least 4 stars for their price and fit, however I actually am using these in a jungle setting and need them to stand up to at least 6 months of work prior to replacement. If you are even the slightest bit handy you can replace and treat the issues with this boot yourself.

Failed
I've owned these in the past. I had a lot of back pain in the past, but not lately (last 5 or 6 years). I wondered if the back pain could be related to these boots. My last set of boots (not these jungle boots) wore out too quickly and cost 3 times as much as these. So i bought another set of these jungle boots but this time i also bought a set of inserts for them. Superfeet Black Premium Insoles Without the inserts, i was standing on concrete talking with a friend and starting to get back pain that reminded me of pain in years past. after i bought the insert things are much better. Although the inserts were more than the boots, both together are still much cheaper than the last non-jungle boots i owned. The jungle boots will last much longer too. ------------------------UPDATE---------------------------------------------------- It's only July and i have worn these out. There is a split through the bottom. I mentioned that i've owned these in the past (above), but these are clearly not the same boots i used when i was in the military. They do look like the exact boots, but don't last anything like the originals. If they were the same boots, they would have lasted years not 4 months. I can't blame heavy usage for why these failed so quickly. I'm a computer tech, not a construction worker (which i've been in the past). My job wouldn't wear these out so fast. Another detail about the usage of these boots, is that half of my time i'm usually wearing sandals. i only wear these boots when i work (4 days a week). So long story short, these have to be made of very low quality material. For those that care to know, you don't quite get what you pay for with these. $27 is cheap, but you'd expect at least a year for cheap boots. I don't recommend anybody buying these.

Good Value/Budget Boots
I bought these for my 13 year old to wear in LOTC this year. Kids grow so fast, and their interests change so quickly…I wasn’t trying to spend $150 on a pair of boots just yet. And these will do nicely! They’re lightweight, come in a nice wide range of sizes, and my son says they’re comfortable. They’re not top quality, okay. If you’re really wearing them hard - long ruck marches on uneven terrain, that sort of thing - they may not be what you’re looking for. But for style/uniform compliance without breaking the bank, they’re perfect. Sizing is weird. I recommend actually measuring your foot and going by the provided size guide. That’s what we did and we got it right on the first try.

So far so good - with updates.
Can’t give them 5 stars because I’ve only been wearing them one week at the time of this review. But so far so good. They are oversized but the product description states that. I got some cheap inserts and that took care of that. I’ve been wearing them everyday for a week in rough working conditions. I wanted these for the hard rubber soles because I run a high risk of stepping on rusty nails sticking through boards. These are my first jungle boots. The canvas uppers seem to keep my feet cooler, I don’t know why. Also, the canvas uppers make these boots easier to lace and they slip on and off a lot easier than what I’m used to. I haven’t ran into any of the problems yet that I’ve seen in these reviews. None of the bootlace eyelets have popped out and the drain grommets are still intact. The leather looks to be real. It’s not cracking and splitting anywhere yet. I shine the boots at the end of the day. I bought these to use for a big cleanup project and then throw away. But I may hold onto them. I like them more and more. My girl friend asked me to order her a pair, I tried to dissuade her, but ended up ordering her a pair. I have no idea how that will go. Anyway, I can’t give them a 5 because I’ve only had them a week. I got these so that I won’t get a nail through my foot. Nice boots have soft glued on soles that aren’t going to stop a nail. Update: been wearing these almost daily for over a month. I feel justified in elevating my rating of them from a four star to a five star. Update: It’s now October 15th, 2021. Still no problems. Included a photo of me wearing them. I like them. They lace up fast, the canvas uppers facilitates slipping them on, they take a good shine and are comfortable (with insoles). And they just look so damned good!

Not worth the price and it's uncomfortable as hell
It's like wearing a piece of loose cardboard between your feet.. tried to wear it a few times to get used to it but unfortunately it just isn't it for me... Your better off buying Merrells cause it's at least more cheaper and more well respected among the hiking community in contrast to these boots.. Rothco on its own is pretty hated for it's low quality gear and I can't agree more with those who dislike it..

Great boots
I normally wear size 11 but I listened to the advice from others and got a size smaller, which is a smidge larger than what I truly need but it’s ‘just right’. I’d rather have it slightly larger than too small. I could have probably gone with a 9W and may have still been good, maybe even better than 10w. I got the olive and I might buy the black in 9W to see the difference. For the price it’s kind of hard to beat these. Super impressed. They are not perfectly straight line stitched or leather perfectly cut, they are not here to win a beauty competition but they look and feel great to my eyes. I like the small faults here and there, and I think it’s going to last a good long time. I’m happy!
