For me I would prefer blackout but more importantly it prevented people from seeing through the window. So far it does that. And it's hard to find good curtains in 73 length.For those thinking of buying just be aware. I order it from ChadMade as the sold by name on here. Thinking it would be a US base warehouse or company. So apparently after receiving the package I've noticed it was shipping from China and after researching around I've found out ChadMade own by a China company. Anyhow I thought buyers should know. If I knew, I could just buy it from another seller on here (btw, who is also from China) that could sell for little bit less with free shipping. You could do it with less but this time I went with extra..They come right out of the package and ready to hang. The few wrinkles drop right out once hung up. The cost of the material & lining for the price and the quality is way above any you would find in the store. Where can you get the wide widths of 80 & 100 per panel? I am so happy with these and they would look great in any room of the house. The material is heavy with lots of threads, the lining is also very nice and the seams and hems are well done. The design is pleasing and adds to our decor. The light blocking feature is just right; it blocks out most of the afternoon sun from the west but without putting the living room in total darkness. I attached shade rods at the top of the drapes with a curtain pin so I can open and close the drapes as needed without touching the fabric. Very pleased with this product. One thing about the first set of drapes I ordered. They were lined in a brown fabric which would not have looked as nice from the outside of the house.
