APPS2Car Garmin GPS Car Mount, 17mm Ball Air Vent Mount

Wow, I'm pleased to give this a FULL FIVE STAR rating. It is such a simple device, yet so perfect. It does exactly as expected, and desired, and it does it so simply, easily, and securely. Seriously, it couldn't be easier to use. And the price, a BARGAIN. It's value is several times it cost. I purchased it to replace my Garmin vent mount ball head which I have mis-placed. This APP2Car ball head vent mount is BETTER that the Garmin. It clamps securely, the best part; and it does so so easily it is almost unbelievable. Such a simple design, other manufactures should be ashamed, APP2Car gets it right. My one concern, which proved unfounded, was that the "prongs" that fit inside the vent seemed really short. I was afraid they were not long enough to grip tightly. Well so far so good. It clamps on very tight, and so easy. Did I mention how EASY it is to use? Well it is. And functional. Going on a trip this week, I will give it the longevity test then. If it fails, you will hear back from me with a revision review. If not, I was satisfied. Bon Voyage.

I'm glad I finally found a vent mount for my Garmin 67LM gps that actually does what I need it to do. It is a secure mount (no jiggle/rattle/flopping) like the last couple of mounts that I tried that clipped on the vent louvers. I also tried the CD slot mounting style, and it was a complete waste of money. This one tightens down securely, and holds my 6" Garmin 67LM gps perfectly with no flopping around/etc. It even has a thin layer of 'rubber' on the 'jaws' to make it grip the vent louver you mount it to. Finally! If you are looking for a product that simply works as it should (the way you hope it would), then look no further. This is the one to get.

Getting your fingers behind the garmin holder to tighten this to the vent is a little awkward, The round knob on the end snapes into the holder okay, but doesn't have a lot of friction so the gps unit wants to sag down until the bottom of the gps rests on the dashboard. Other than that its been working okay. My previous holder failed after several years of use, Remains to be seen how this one will last.

Have never been a fan of the suction cup mounts. This is my 4th or 5th vent/dash mount and by the far the best. It replaces my most recent mount - a Garmin vent mount - on which a fragile clamping arm broke. IMO, what makes this mount good is the simplicity - 2 sturdy tapered arms simply clamp down around a vane in the vent as you tighten a big, easy to manipulate knob. Once it's tight, it seems very stable, unlike some of the other mounts I've had. Since there aren't all sorts of spring-loaded clips and complicated clamping mechanisms, there's less of a chance that this one will break, either. The Garmin mount had a little hook on the end of the arms which needed to close around the back of the vent vane - which made it impossible to use in a recent rental car having very deep vanes. This one doesn't require that - it looks like it will work on just about anything. I like that it keeps my GPS off the top of the dash and less conspicuous - the low profile puts my GPS snug up against the other instruments in my car.

I take my GPS with me when I travel and wanted to try this out since it was so small versus the big, bulky weighted stand I use for my vehicle at home (which is great unless you have to lug it around in your carry-on at the airport). I've only used it once so far with a 2018 Chevy Malibu rental and it worked great, even though the car had vertical vents. I just snugged it up tight to one of the vents using the mount's tightener, and never had to touch it again for the week I used it in the car. It never loosened up, it didn't bounce excessively, it just worked like it is supposed to. When I got my rental back to the airport, it took 10 seconds to loosen it and pull it off the car's vent. It's also small enough to fit into the Amazon Basics GPS case I have along with the GPS unit and the cord. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I prefer to have my GPS along the dashboard so that I can see it while watching the road but was tired of the heavy duty dashboard mount kept sliding in some turns and the window mount suction wearing out in summer heat so I got this. It works but think it's very overpriced at $9.98 shipped. I think it's worth no more than 1/2 that price. Also, with the weight of the GPS, the vents are bent downwards so you'll get little or no heat/air.

Good quality but way TOO EXPENSIVE.

This is the simplest and best Garmin type mount I have ever used. It only projects a couple of inches from where it attaches, making it far more stable than other designs. It adapted perfectly to my center dash air vent. For once I have the GPS where it is convenient to control and easy to read. Very easy to remove with a twist of a knob. No suction cups to wear out. Great product. A bargain.

This vent bracket works great and holds my 7 inch GPS in place. It is very sturdy and is very easy to mount. I would not hesitate to order it again.

This unit is perfect. Especially for the Garmin GPS unit. Fit perfectly and snugly and have already used it for a long range run. Extremely pleased with the grip and reliability over rough terrain.

Easy to install where wanted and is a very tight fit. Modified this one slightly by placing a small thin piece of rubber onto the vent first, then attaching the mount over it. Would even be a better product if the ball had a small extension, even 3/4 of an inch would be enough to tilt and adjust properly. Can only recommend it

Product works well, but vents on Jeep JK not strong enough to support GPS weight.

This one is replaced for my genuine Garmin vent mount that I broke. Very simple and small design, but less chance to break I think. (I had to move the Nuvi between two cars and finally broke the previous one in a hurry.. :'( ) although less than a half price (compared to previous one), it grips really steady on the vent. This one supposed not to fit (?!) in my second car, but even there, grips quite well, so very satisfied. Just hope it lasts long from my rough handling. ;)
