Weber Coconut Shell Briquettes

I recently put a bag of Weber Coconut Briquettes to the test, and I have to say, I'm genuinely impressed. For anyone who enjoys a long, consistent cook on their barbecue, these are a game-changer. What really stood out to me was the incredibly even heat they produced, and the fact that they genuinely burned for a solid four hours. I was doing a low and slow cook, and typically I'd be fussing with adding more coals or adjusting vents constantly to maintain the temperature. With these, once they were up to temperature (which didn't take long at all with a chimney starter), they just held it beautifully. No hot spots, no sudden drops in heat – just a steady, reliable warmth across the entire grate. This consistent performance meant I could focus on the food, rather than constantly managing the fuel. Plus, the minimal ash production compared to traditional briquettes was a pleasant surprise, making cleanup a breeze. These briquettes provide very consistent heat and burn for a long time, which makes cooking much easier to manage. I’ve used them for everything from quick BBQs to roasting chicken and even smoking brisket, and they perform well across the board. They’re a great all-round option if you want reliable fuel that works for both everyday grilling and longer, slower cooks.

Great briquettes and keep a stable heat similar to the standard ones. These do seem to be harder to source though.

Burned evenly for hours. I had no idea the fuel could make such a difference to the process. I'll be buying these from now on. Even without much smoke the food still had that fantastic bbq flavour.

These coconut briquettes light just as easily as wood based briquettes and provide a good level of heat. They didn’t provide quite as much heat as wood based Weber briquettes and didn’t last quite as long, but still worked well enough and much better than most of the cheaper stuff out there.

Lasts long with little smoke

Never used these before but having always rated Weber briquettes highly for my low and slow cooking I was interested to give these a go as a sustainable and eco-friendly option. Would these give me similar burn times and temp control to regular Weber briquettes. I have used these a couple of times now and can say that I have been very impressed with them, getting an 8 hour slow cook and a hot and fast chicken cook with ease so have no hesitation in recommending them. As always with Weber you pay a premium so when the price is right I'll be snapping these up.

J’ai testé les briquettes de noix de coco Weber et je dois dire que je suis vraiment impressionné par leur qualité. Elles s’allument proprement, montent bien en température et surtout, elles offrent une longue durée de combustion, bien plus régulière que beaucoup de briquettes classiques. Ce qui ressort immédiatement, c’est la stabilité de la braise : une fois lancées, elles tiennent longtemps, ce qui permet de cuisiner tranquillement sans avoir à en rajouter toutes les dix minutes. Plusieurs utilisateurs le soulignent, et je confirme totalement : pour les cuissons longues ou les barbecues qui s’éternisent, c’est parfait. Autre point appréciable : très peu de fumée et quasiment pas d’odeur. La combustion est propre, ce qui évite d’imprégner les aliments d’un goût parasite. Pour les grillades, c’est un vrai plus. Le produit est aussi plus économique qu’il n’y paraît : les briquettes durent longtemps, se consument lentement et peuvent même être réutilisées si on ferme bien les arrivées d’air après cuisson. Plusieurs clients l’ont remarqué, et c’est clairement un avantage par rapport aux briquettes basiques. La qualité Weber est bien là : briquettes denses, régulières, faciles à manipuler, et un sac de 4 kg qui tient largement plusieurs sessions de barbecue. En résumé, ce sont des briquettes haut de gamme, fiables, durables et très agréables à utiliser. Pour une cuisson maîtrisée, propre et longue durée, c’est un excellent choix. Je recommande sans hésiter.
