Thingamejig Scribing Tool Imperial/Metric

Bought this for my husband and all his work friends want one! Arrived quickly and in perfect condition! My husband loves it!

Best scribe I’ve ever used with one note. This is best utilized for cabinets, baseboards or similar when one needs to transfer gradual contours from floors or walls. This is not a replacement for a compass scribe for transferring highly irregular surfaces such as brick walls or really toothy plank floors to a workpiece. That said, used as intended, most accurate and precisely adjustable unit I’ve ever had the pleasure of using.

this is awesome tool. great scribe and quilty tools are not cheap, this tool will last a life time if well taken care of, its very accurate, well thought out and very precise.

I added this scribing tool to my excessive set of tools for cabinetry installation. The tool works great on wood surfaces, but when it comes to laminated surfaces even on while it will not leave a scribe line. One other thing for seller to consider, sense this tool is so expensive, I would expect an extra set of replaceable tips would be fair.

It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, well made as well. It doesn’t replace scribes or a scribe block completely, due to the nuances of the real world

Amazing scribe tool I am a 45 year woodworking contractor and stair builder this tool is designed from aluminum what strength I do not know but the engineering is perfect I can scribe perfect stair treads onto crooked warped skirt boards after installation zero gaps I have also used it to scribe cabinet filler to walls and to brick facades that has been soldier coursed and the multi blade is designed like the helical cutting heads on my joiner and planer providing extended usage before replacing which I have yet to do! Highly recommend I hear through sources they are coming out with a smaller version which I will buy. I found out about this Australian made scriber through Elite Trade Anthony's use on his IG account page his scribing abilities is amazing when using the thingamejig.. Buy it now!

This is a well made tool and the carbide tips work better than the sharpened steel pins I have used previously. I would use caution when installing the carbide inserts, I broke one when installing with modest torque. The tool works well and does not mar the wall, however it is too big to use on shallow wall returns which forces me to pull out the Crain dividers. It has become my preference for nearly all scribing situations, very nice tool!
