How solidly are the magnets attached? They look tiny. Any chance they could come off and get swallowed by a child or a pet?

This would depend on the child/pet and supervision. My grandchildren have used them repeatedly and the magnets have not come off.

How thick are the letters ? I'd like to use them on sliding door wardrobe. Thx

They are not thick at all. If you want to open/close your wardrobe door (I'm assuming it's like a glass sliding door) where one door slides behind the other, I believe you would have to remove them or they may fall behind your door. I absolutely love these letters. I'm a literacy teacher and they are perfect for teaching consonants vs. vowels. I strongly recommend them. I have my students each use a cookie sheet which they love to use. They sit it on their lap and or their table.
