what is the difference between the 800 and the 810?

Our JBL Quantum 810 has longer battery life of up to 43 hrs compared to to Quantum 800 which has only up to 14 hrs. Our Quantum 810 weighs 357g which is significanlty lower than the qunatum 800 which weighs 410g this means that the Qunatum 810 will be more comfortable in long hour hours of gaming.

My Quantum 810 turns off during video calls. This is not ideal. Is it related to a power-saving setting, or is something wrong with my unit?

This is very dependent on what application is being used for said video calls. The Quantum 810 is a true gaming headset, it may not work with some other applications

Can you connect this headset to a smartphone or iPad for calls and gaming?

Yes, our JBL Quantum 810 can be connected to any mobile phone using 3.5 mm aux or Bluetooth. Active components like the RGB lights, any other configurations done on the Quantum 810 headphones will not take effect. RGB will not light up when connecting with 3.5mm cable to any device (PC, Console, Mobile, etc.) because the cable doesn't have power enough for the RBG lighting.

Is the microphone detachable?

The microphone on our Quantum 810 is not detachable.
