Still a new purchase, but amazing quality
Although I just received it and will edit or revisit another review in the future, I'm so surprised at the quality of the volume, the ease of operation and how these old cassettes sound....they sound great! I like that only 2 AA batteries are needed if you're in a blackout or power outage, and since the power cord is an USB cable, I can keep it plugged in in my car. The AM/FM reception was amazing in my concrete, fire-proof home. I've played several cassettes on both sides, and they all sound as if brand new. Haven't used the headphones or mic yet, but my purpose of this was mainly to listen to my self-recorded music cassettes, and the AM/FM radio in case of an emergency. So far, very pleased and recommend.

Great for basic stuff, not great for higher quality stuff
The built-in mic is not very good, but it gets the job done. It does come with a mic, also not great quality but also gets the job done. The sound quality from recording with their mic (built-in or attachable) results in a retro vibe, albiet a kind of mid-quality retro vibe. The speaker is bad. I was also able to record from my computer (Spotify) onto a Type I cassette using a 3.5mm male-to-male cord. It had pretty goodsound quality (for a Type I cassette), no adjustments to the equalizer needed. However, I also tried with Type II cassette; the same sound settings gave much much worse quality. I also tried changing the equalizer and volume; it helped, but not much. I didn't try with Type IV. Also worth noting that there doesn't seem to be any effective sound-suppression system, so the cassette hiss is very present. It's less noticable when you turn the cassette player's own volume lower. I would reccommend this if you're just looking for an affordable, easy-to-use cassette player to do things like make a mixtape with moderately good quality sound on a standard cassette. If you're looking to use better cassettes or you don't like tape hiss, I would look somewhere else. (Also I tried the radio, and it didn't work. But I also didn't try very hard and I live in a big city with lots of concrete so it wasn't gonna work anyways)

Great cassette player
Great cassette player--I've had it for over a year, dropped it multiple times, and it's still chugging along. The audio quality isn't anything to write home about (for both speaker and earbuds), but it's perfectly serviceable. The radio also isn't the clearest/most precise, but fine for tuning in to local stations. The provided mic is mid at best--I used a male male aux cord to record things off my laptop; again, audio quality is just fine, but that's all I needed it to be. Both plug in and battery power sources have worked fine, though I haven't really tested how long it lasts off of battery only. It's not high-end by any means, but it's perfectly functional at a decent price.

Solid cassette tape recorder with just the right set of features and (even) accessories
I was just looking for anything that plays back my old high school music tape from decades ago. I came across this product and bought it only because it was cheaper than the music restoration services LOL. That said, I was impressed with the product as it was delivered, at this price. It is solid, works great, has speakers to test out music as I FF/REW the tape (w/o fiddling with headphones). The USB-based power plug was excellent as I was editing from the tape back and forth and didn't want the batteries to conk out and slow down the playback tempo (which may or may not happen with this unit). In addition, it not only came with (wired) earbuds but also an external mic! It has AM/FM radio, too, so it would come in handy in some disastrous situation when cell phones and internet doesn't work to catch emergency broadcast etc. I don't know the use of "Walkman" is legit here (it ain't no SONY in case it wasn't obvious), but it is actually a good solid product. (Disclaimer: this review was written only after 2 days (albeit solid 2 days) of use)

DON'T BUY IT!
First off the radio gets no AM channels and the FM get only three, I know there a at least 60 FM stations I can Receive in my area. So radio gets a F rating. Tape Recording: Built in Mic not so good. External Mic supplied works better. PlayBack: Tape hiss and low buzzing sound from drive motor on the recording. Tape Used: Memorex Normal Bias 60 Min. (Cost $10.00)

Pretty impressive, especially for the price!
A lot of great features in a fairly small package; and at a very good price point! It does a fine job of cassette playback, though I've not tested the record function. It comes with an external mic, as well as a pair of earbuds. Higher-quality headphones can improve your experience. Note that playback is simulated stereo, not real two-channel stereo. The radio works well on both AM and FM. Tuning is a bit tricky, as just a small movement of the thumbwheel scoots across the dial pretty fast. The internal speaker, a rarity on a machine this small, does a credible job. Unlike the slightly-smaller Walkman, a group can listen-in with plenty of volume. Certainly not hi-fi, but good for books on tape, sports or casual music listening. Seems to run a good long time on 2 inexpensive AA batteries. A great travel companion! Recommended.

Cassette player, recorder and radio.
This was a present for me and I am delighted with it. It is very good quality and easy to use. So far the sound has proved excellent. I have disabled fingers, which cope easily with speed and functionality and the seem fine. It is worth its value for money. It gives me great pleasure- thank you.
