Trying to be cute and simple doesn't work.
I am American born and raised. I work for a Korean company, with many Korean natives, so I'm trying to learn the language in my spare time. This book is not very good. If I only had this book, I would really struggle. The mnemonics are poor, and some pronunciation tips taught me incorrectly or inefficiently. The Korean alphabet has 14 basic consonants, this book only teaches 10 of them.Every other page is a practice writing page.

Great way to remember the sounds!
This book has been extremely helpful for teaching my daughter Hangul. The cover art is a very accurate depiction of what’s inside. It has cute pictures to help you remember the sounds. Each page also shows the strokes to form each character. The back of each page has lined boxes for plenty of extra practice.

Great Book To Start With
I've really enjoyed using this book. I very recently started learning Korean and I was really struggling with Hangul and the alphabet. This book has helped me learn so much faster. If you're looking to learn the language this is a great building block to do that! I would pair it with other books, but starting out this has been a life saver for me! I reccomend this book to anyone struggling with the alphabet or Hangul.

Will teach you how to write the alphabet but that's it
Some words are better described but this helped me learn the alphabet although it doesnt teach you the rules of alphabet like how if a syllable starts with ㄱ it makes sort of a k sound but if it ends with a ㄱ it sometimes makes a g sound but as far as learning to write its good

Korean Language Beginner
I wanted to learn Korean Hangul before I started my Korean language courses to help me solidify all I will be learning. I want to learn to not only speak Korean but read Korean as well. I grabbed my notebook to take notes and practice writing. Completed the entire book in two hours (taking notes and practicing out loud). I am actually reading Korean!!! My mind is blown! Worth every penny. Best buy ever! 감사함니다 오앙 씨!!

Helpful
This isn’t a bad book but you will need to know some basic Korean to understand why certain things are written the way they are. Translation is not a word for word process (example: in German they say “pleased” instead of “you’re welcome”… same situation, different response. If you say you’re welcome in German people will think you are nuts. Same thing happens with Korean vs English translation).

The book within isn’t what the cover says it is.
First off the cover doesn’t actually match the contents of the book. It’s verbs and not letters. Second, it says look at the red colored words… it’s all in black and white as if someone ran it under a copy machine. Rip off.

Good for beginners
I am using this book in conjunction with my textbook while taking a class Intro to Korean Language. This helps me a lot on how to write the letters.

as a first book is ok
It is ok if you want to learn the vowels and consonants, but it is unclear how do you create words. The words given as example are clearly not built from the vowels and consonants in the beginning of the book.
