How strong is the scent?

It is not very strong at all. I was hoping it was more Bay Rummy.

Do you feel like you have to shampoo it out at the end of the day?

No, usually by the end of my day I have ruined my beard enough that most is gone. I do wash my beard when I wash my face, but not because of the balm.

Do you Apply Viking beard balm to a damp or a dry beard?

Personaly Preference, I typically use a beard oil that my wife makes before I apply the balm, the balm keeps your beard soft, the oil helps it to grow and thicken also helps to keep beard soft. Its best to use a beard wash, beard oil and then apply beard balm, if you want a healthy and full looking soft beard. This regiment will keep your beard soft for about two full days but i recommend daily application.
