Pair of Front Bonnet Hood Shock Rod Kit

Replaced the factory hood prop on a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder with these about 8 months ago. So far they have been working perfectly. I appreciate that they use the factory holes and bolts so you don't have to modifiy anything to install. Looks factory. The instructions are not good but there are videos out there to aid in installation. Make marks with a sharpie on the hood before removing the hinge bolts for proper hood alignment during reinstall. The two pieces that have the round and square hole on oposite ends were not necessary for my installation. Can't remember what they are intended for but they are not necessary on the 08 Pathfinder. Torque Specs for 2008 Nissan Pathfinder are: Hood-to-Hinge Nuts: 9 ft-lbs (12 Nm). Hinge-to-Fender Bolts: 10 ft-lbs (14 Nm) Do not over-tighten. I used blue loctite (optional)

Quick easy install. Other reviews mention hood shifting during install but I used a couple small rubber tip squeeze clamps to hold it in place easy peasy. Bolts up quick and simple and works like a charm. Seems like something that should have came stock with truck

Super easy to install. Great upgrade for my 06 frontier. Hood opens up little more than it did.

I have a 2019 Nissan Frontier and this hood lift system installed in under 1/2 hour with no drilling or issues. All the places to which the system parts will attach, are already a part of your truck. Remove a bolt, place the product and reinstall the bolt...before you know it you have a hood that lifts itself! Nissan hoods are heavy and have that stupid stick to hold them up...this is such an improvement. This hood system was excellently priced and the parts are metal and will hold up for years to come. Some things you should know for installation: Do one side at a time and when you put the gas shock on the thick side should attach to the hood and the thin arm should attach to the car. I highly recommend this product, for price, materials and ease of installation.

One strut is just strong enough to hold the hood up, but two is perfect. No instructions, so here are a few points to consider. I noticed one bad review had the lower brackets swapped and wouldn't fit. The "pin" should be toward the front on the lower brackets. Upper brackets the pin in up. After install, remove the prop arm and the retaining clip before closing.

Stopped working after about a year. Will not hold the hood up at all.

These, so far, work OUTSTANDING!!! I’ve only had them on a few days and already easier to open and close the hood. Never did figure out what the two “Gaskets” are for unless they are for something similar to a Nissan Frontier. As everyone says, watch one of the many videos out for installation and it’s pretty smooth and easy to understand. If I’m just looking, I’d definitely buy!!!

Simple and easy only thing to remember is be mindful of hood spacing . Total install 10 minutes and most of that time was finding my socket set. With the cost of vehicles I cannot understand why something this inexpensive is not part of the base package. The hood rod that comes standard is terrible and holds the hood to low to comfortably work under the hood.
