Mini is just as good, and you get 2 of them.
So far so good for this mini version. These things are very light and hopefully their plastic doesn’t break. I have dropped it once already, but it shows no signs of damage. This product should be used to wave around in the air to touch the pests. It is not intended to “hit” or “smack” anything because it will break. I do however notice that I catch more pests the faster I wave it in the air (be aware of your environment; try not to break anything or hurt anyone). The flys that I manage to hit with this make a loud snapping sound. Sometimes they survive the hit and fly away, but most times they fall to the ground subdued, allowing you to step on them. Other times they get stuck in it and make a little lightning bolt arc shine from their bodies. This usually results in a burned smell if you continue to press the energizing button (which I will explain in a moment). These USB rechargeable zap rackets come with only one cord, but I already have another cord for a cell phone, so, whatever. The charge cord fits behind the yellow door at the base of the handle. I like that this product has switches on it. One on the side that cuts power to the metal completely, and one in the middle of the handle to control a light. Why it needs a light is beyond me, but it’s there if you need it. The main button that energizes the metal grid is the yellow button on the side. There are two LED lights on the handle. A red LED light that shines to show you that the metal grid is being energized every time the yellow button is pressed, and a green one lower on the handle that only shines to indicate when it is finished recharging. Oh, and instructions say it should be charged before use. It also says it can be recharged a thousand times (or something along those lines) because of the powerful lithium battery, but I have yet to charge it again (since the first charge after I received it). I have already killed around 40 flies and a few mosquitoes with one of them on a single charge and it shows no signs of weakening. Both rackets have fully charged within two hours. I have not shocked myself yet, and I have noticed that this is due to the safe design. I am fairly certain that shocking yourself is a possibility if you are determined to do it, but I highly recommend that you not. I am thoroughly satisfied with this product so far but I will return to update this review if I find any problems or flaws to adjust the star rating.

Even Blind Friendly!
As a blind individual, I am always on the Amazon lookout for products that might prove useful to me. Whether it's cooking, cleaning, baking, boiling water, etc, I'm always on the lookout. I've found many useful products here on Amazon, and some, like this ZapIt, are a complete and utter surprise. Being blind, I don't have to tell you, makes catching flies a grade A pain in the rear. I could never get them with my shoe, and my bug killing friend told me I needed a fly swatter. 'Fine,' I thought. 'Let me find something that'll be easy for him to use. Something that has good reviews.' Logged into Amazon and went on my search. I thought this little fly killer sounded not only useful, but fun. I figured he might enjoy it. What I never expected was that this ZapIt is usable by someone with little to no vision as well. How is that even possible? Simple. Step 1: Listen for fly. Step 2: Grab ZapIt. Step 3: This might take a lot longer than it might take a sighted person, but I've had success with merely crouching in a spot of sunlight or angling the racket so that the mesh catches some light if it's daytime. I've enough vision to be able to tell when that happens. Remain very, very still, and angle the racket in the direction the fly appears to be flying when it's buzzing around you. When the fly nears, I press down on the Zap button and hold it down while slowly maneuvering the racket toward the sound. Sometimes it takes a while, but when that little bugger is caught, the ZapIt makes a loud *ZAP* sound and, as mentioned, you can smell the little blighter frying. It's not perfect. It can be really irritating. But it is a viable option for killing those bugs you can hear if you can't see. You'll know when you've got it. If I could give this ten stars, I would. I can tell if the battery is low as well, because that light is bright enough for me to see. I just flick its switch to check the power levels. Better than sticking your finger into the mesh and trying to zap yourself to figure it out. XD

You get what you pay for, and it works! But keep a few things in mind
For one, it works, no real issues there. It's exactly what it says it is, an electric bug zapper shaped like a tennis racket. But a couple of things to keep in mind. This thing is LIGHT and PLASTIC, meaning it's fragile. Don't go smacking any hard surfaces at full strength with this thing. It's for waving around in the air, not a fly swatter for hitting a desk or wall. Second thing, don't hold the activation button down or leave the switch for "always on", it drains the battery super fast! So does the light function. If you want it to last a long time between charges, set the switch to only come on when you push the button. Next thing, the size of the bug you are hitting with this thing matters. Smaller bugs like mosquitos, small moths, small flies, etc, no problem. They are dead right away. But the bigger bugs? Like a horse fly for example? You can hit them and hear the electric pop, but they can either still fly away or are only stunned for a few seconds and trying to take off from the ground. And the bigger ones can get stuck in the metal grid too, so if you hold down the button when one does get stuck, you end up frying it and making a really bad smell. (co-worker found this out when they hit a big fly and held the button down rather than letting it go as soon as they heard the pop. A bit of smoke and a bad smell >.<) So if you are going after bigger bugs with this thing, you have to hit them multiple times, or keep them in contact with the grid long enough. But, at least it's a safe manual zapper, because it has 2 sections of grids. One in the center of the hoop that actually does the shocking, and another layer on each side a little separated from that so that you can't accidentally zap yourself or another person. So, yeah, other than being careful about the battery charge and the size of the bugs being zapped, decent product for the price.

Powerful & effective - the best one I've tried
I've purchased four zapper rackets from Amazon so far: Elucto 2-wire / 2xAA battery / 3200~3500 volts Black Flag 3-layer / 2xAA battery / 2750 volts Lanpuly 3-layer / USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery / 4000 volts ZapIt ! 3-layer / USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery / 4000 volts The Rechargeable Zap It! is by far the best, due to the grid design and higher voltage. Here's what I've learned so far: 3-layer is better than 2-wire Examples of 2-wire, single-layer designs include Executioner and Elucto. To be zapped, the bug must touch 2 wires. It works well for larger bugs but in my experience, small gnats pass right between the wires with no effect. The more common 3-layer design has an inner "hot" grid separated from the outer "ground" layers with plastic spacers. To be zapped, part of the bug has to go far enough in the mesh to touch the center grid. You'd think it would be less effective… but in my testing, it works equally well on large bugs … and much better on small flying gnats. USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery is better than AA battery Zapper rackets are usually powered by two AA batteries or a single USB rechargeable lithium ion battery. AA battery powered zappers are rated between 2750 & 3500 volts while USB rechargeables can go as high as 4000 volts. It’s a difference you can see and hear … and the higher voltage improves the chances of a kill. ZapIt ! USB Rechargeable is the best I've tried One way to test a zapper racket is to press it against the foliage of a plant with small leaves. It shows how sensitive it is (how many sparks) and how powerful it is (how loud are the cracking sounds) Lanpuly was the first 4000 volt, USB-rechargeable racket I purchased. Doing the foliage test, it didn't work nearly as well as the Rechargeable ZapIt! The voltage is the same so what's different? It turns out the internal gaps between the 3 layers in the Lanpuly are wider … so bugs are less likely to touch the center layer. The ZapIt! grid spacing is closer and in the foliage test, it produces far more and louder sparks. For use on bugs, it's also the best I've tried. As an example of the power and sensitivity, I placed the face of the Rechargeable ZapIt! on a silverfish on the carpet. The result was a loud display of sparks like the 4th of July ! The silverfish was vaporized … and the snapping, crackling sounds were so loud that they startled my wife in the next room ! There are three sizes: Mini 16" long x 6.3" wide / Medium 18" long x 7.6" wide / Large 19" long x 8.3" wide. I've tried the Medium and Large and recommend the Medium as the slimmer grip makes it easier to snap your wrist back and forth while also having to hold the power button down with your thumb. There's no reason to get the Mini in my opinion. Note: Amazon also sells ZapIt! rackets powered by 2xAA batteries that are only rated for 3500 volts. Unless USB charging is not available, that option is not recommended. Tip: an iPad USB charger charges faster than a smaller iPhone "cube" charger I hope this information is helpful !

DO NOT BUY - WASTE OF MONEY
$21.59 (plus Tax) is TOO EXPENSIVE for a PIECE OF JUNK DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! The fly swatter not as expected, this is battery operated but does NOT last long, charge weak, and the battery LASTS LESS THAN A WEEK AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES AGAIN AND AGAIN!!! The LED light not working, I suffered Carpal Tunnel syndrome trying to press too hard to get the Red light to zap anything. Unfortunately, now I have NO USE for it because the mesh get STUCK to SPARK every time I try to press the button and potentially get zapped (or potential Fire)! Now the Seller "ZAP IT" store (and Amazon) will NOT ALLOW RETURN since product may pose potential health and safety risks if Returned. I wrote this Review Today 10/13/2026 (Item Eligible for Return by 11/01/2026), but UNFORTUNATELY now I WASTED MONEY ($21.59 plus Tax)!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! DO NOT BUY!!1

More like a taser gun for pests, does NOT KILL
The bug zapper is all zap- but no zing. Maybe bugs have gotten more hardy these days. And though I do appreciate at least the temporarily stunning capabilities of Zap-it! Bug Zapper I would not completely recommend it until they give this thing more voltage/redesign the product to be more powerful. More Details: I have charged it up fully to make sure that it works, and it does a glorious display of flashy zaps when it catches your various winged mosquitoes, flies, and small winged pests of the like... BUT it doesn't kill them! 9/10 it temporarily stuns them, but when I shake them off the bug zapper they are still crawling dazedly around. What's more I have even gone so far as to shake the zap-it (gently) from side to side after the first initial zap to further electrocute the insect and still no dice. The thing ZAPS more than once and then I smell a slight smoking sound and shake the hapless victim onto the counter only to see it miserably drag itself around. This item is giving me a bit of a guilt complex because although I hate mosquitoes with a passion, still I can see the cruelty in if I were a mosquito minding my own business and some big bully decided to taser me multiple times at a low power so that it hurt but didn't kill me then I would see that bully as the monster and not myself. I will post a video pretty soon of how ineffective this is in killing the bugs.
