If you want to save a few bucks, you can buy this and do about everything that a Chromecast device does. But, it is more complicated to setup and seems a bit touchy. For instance, my Chromecast is recognized and usable by my Google Home system This device is recognized as a Chromecast device. But, Google Home can not seem to interact with it.I hold 3 different engineering degrees and it was not easy for me to get this working. I attribute this to the patently useless instructions and the non-intuitive setup process.Once setup, it seemed to operate ok for the most part.If you use a lot of these kind of devices, perhaps you will have better results than me.

A very nice wireless bridge for the money.Easy to set up, but the font on the directions is quite small.Construction is light, but sturdy enough for the job. easy to silicone down for permanent installations.Reverse connection option (it can be hooked up in either direction).Nice, but very short HDMI cable.

This 4K HDMI display adapter is useful to cast from source devices like cellphones. Although I had a lot of trouble pairing with it (included instructions are somewhat vague and my phone had trouble receiving the device signal), once hooked up the device did an acceptable passthrough of the cast signal. The combination power cord and WiFi antenna is a great idea, and the antenna has enough extra wiring that it can be positioned out from behind whatever device it is hooked to, improving signal reception. I think the device degrades the video signal but only very slightly – the video output on a TV and a video projector were both a little less dynamic in the color range than the original. That said, the adapter does a great job running off of marginal power sources – a USB with only 0.5A output kept the device running happily, with zero issues. There is a noticeable audio lag on some devices, one which cannot be resolved by using a delay setting. This is annoying, but it is also present on many inexpensive HDMI adapters similar to this one. This would be a great device to use with a remote projector, monitor or display. Just not quite perfect.

I simply plugged it in according to instructions and it immediately connected to my Android phone and mirrored. The video resolution was clear. The audio was clear. It's the perfect solution for my needs, in fact, I'm ordering a second one for when I'm away from home. My husband connected his phone quickly as well. Small device that doesn't take up a lot of real estate. I don't use Netflix or anything so I don't know how well it works with streaming services but I would think if it works on the phone, it will work just fine. I am pleasantly surprised. I don't have home internet so it was not connected via wifi. The last casting device I got needed internet so it was useless to me. Great for camping!

This wifi thing lags when used for laptop and projector. Words are not with what ever your watching

It's ok to get if that's all you can afford but it doesn't really get a good enough signal to have a clear picture
