As others have mentioned, the clip to clip it to the top of the monitor - doesn't really work. There are 2 options in the package - a clip that should grab the top of the screen (if it's not too thick). It fit on my imac screen, but keeps popping off as the spring pinches. So I am using the tripod, sort of resting atop the screen. I have to be careful not to jolt it or it will fall, and I have to be careful the legs don't cover my camera. But - while not ideal - it's a super easy, well priced light. I like it. Would buy again. And it doesn't show up in my eyeglasses the way ring lights do.

I like this light bar, but the controls are neared to the light than the USB plug, making it difficult to use when sitting atop my monitor. So, I have to stand up and locate the on off and color adjustment tools when using and it's annoying, especially since I have to adjust brightness or color depending on time of day and light filtering into the room and depending upon the platform.

An additional piece between the light bar and the computer table would enable positioning the light sufficiently above the computer display to ease eye strain. I am fashioning a rod with male threads on one end and female threads on the other that is approximately eleven inches long to provide that function. A manufactured part could be fabricated entirely out of plastic and would easily support the light bar.

This is a good light with 11 brightness settings and 3 color settings. It comes with two mounts. The simple tripod is very basic and quite short, only allowing the light bar to stand about 2" above a table top or whatever flat surface you use. The other mount is a spring loaded clamp that opens about 10mm (3/8") to grip the edge of something. I haven't seen many monitors with that thin a frame. It might work for a tablet (ummm, okay), phone (what? why?!) or laptop, but not on any desktop monitors I've seen. And that's where it loses the stars for me. That said, the mounting boss for attaching the mount to the light bar is a separate piece and can be placed in one of 3 positions; on a long edge, or either short edge. The USB socket is offset, on the same long edge as the mounting boss bayonet-type slot, so being able to mount the tripod or clamp mount on either of the short ends is beneficial. If not for the tiny tripod and marginally useful clamp mount, this would be great, and not just fair. The light output is nice with the ability to change color temp and brightness, but using it on a desktop setup requires coming up with your own bracket or standing it on your desk and lighting your face from below (which can look erie), or from a side which may not be ideal. Thankfully, I have access to a 3D printer and made my own clamp bracket for my monitor that opens to 30mm so I can mount this light bar to the top of my monitor. Otherwise you could spend another ~$20 on a gooseneck clamp with a 1/4"-20 camera mounting stud to put this light where you need it.

Feature wise, no complaints has everything I wanted including multiple shades and brightness control. The issues come with its build quality. As others have noted it acts like there is a short within the cable somewhere. The cable moves at all and the light flickers like it is shorting out. The light has lasted 9 months and its starting to burn out. The warm white no longer works at all and the other shades are showing signs of flickering. Overall I would say if you are going to be using something like this on a regular basis I would opt for something with a higher quality bar.

The clip isn’t wide enough to clip to the top of most monitors, and the stand isn’t very tall, but the light itself is pretty nice with all the different settings. Much better than using just an overhead in the room.

I had to Frankenstein pieces off of my old light with this one to get it to clip onto my desk monitor. The clip that comes with it is really only good for laptops. Anything thicker than that and the clip is not going to fit over it.

Easy to mount - though the clip is not super wide (1cm or so) so the monitor needs to be thin enough to mount it. 3 white colour profiles and dimmer. The wide strip balances the light across your face for video calls well.

Clamp cannot grip standard curved back monitors. Would be more suitable for a laptop as thin and square.

The video light colors and mounting works as advertised, its only drawback is it does not get bright enough for use in an office environment where the room lights provide a backlight which puts you into silhouette. This light isn’t bright enough for daytime office use. Night use and dimmer rooms it works fine.
