Can this be configured as a raid array?

This works well with Windows10 Storage Spaces as mentioned in an early answer. Most of the other answers are incomplete or non-answers. Time has passed... I'll post my review soon, but this device works very well and you'll gets up to about 400MB/s in and out of the unit (depending on the choice of RAID/protection level in Storage Spaces). Using a better(?) volume/pool manager, you may get even more performance. If it were a 10gbps Gen 2 chipset, I'd buy 10 of them. At startup, your first impression may be that it looks like and sounds like a small humidifier or air freshener. :) If they would release a version with auto fan speed control, then they'd hit a home run with this.

Hello community! What is the maximum height (or thickness) of the hard drive that the slot can take in?

The slots are 13 mm wide, But I widened the slots to 15 mm & used a 4 TB 2.5 inch drive, 15 mm thick. This works after making slots wider. BUT this voids the warranty. I bought unit, used for months, then adapted it to fit.

Can anyone verify the max depth drives that fit? some of the 3tb-4tb 2.5" drives are over the typical 7-9mm but can reach 15mm thick. will these fit?

Measuring the slots on mine indicates it should fit up to a 12.5mm drive. It will not fit 15mm thick drives.

What is the maximum capacity HDD can you use?

I have four Samsung 870QVO drives installed - two 2TB and two 4TB. The unit works flawlessly in this configuration. I do concur with previous poster - you must directly connect this unit to the PC - do not use a USB hub in between the PC and the unit.
