It is in fact molykote idk. A review for this seems kind of funny because if you are buying something so niche you kind of know exactly what you are looking for and what this does. Regardless tho it worked like a dream as always, the ONE thing I recommend is use gloves when applying if you can, this stuff is sticky and hard to wash off 😂

It was perfect for installing O-rings in my espresso machine.

THis was recommend to pre lubrication the O Ring seals on an automotive fitting on the coolant lines. Made installation easy, no rolling or pinching of the O Rings. A picture of the seal location below, on the old broken pipe. EDIT : I've since used it in two other places on the car, and this stuff is great. Makes sealing systems for pneumatic vacuums and rubber fittings slide easily instead of jamming due to friction.

TL;DR: I bought the 2-pack of 6g sachets instead of the 150g tube, mainly because I wanted something easy to travel with and didn't need anywhere near that much. I use Molykote 111 on the O-rings of my Flair Pro 3 every 3-6 months, and even 12g will probably last me for many years. The sachets are also surprisingly substantial, with a little built-in spout that makes it easy to dispense a tiny amount and protect what's left. For this kind of occasional home maintenance, I much prefer these small packs over a huge tube that will likely end up being mostly wasted. PROS: 🥳 6g is MUCH more than it sounds like for O-ring maintenance 🥳 The little dispensing spout makes it easy to use tiny amounts and protect the rest 🥳 Two separate packs mean the second one stays unopened and fresh 🥳 Perfect quantity for occasional home espresso-machine maintenance CONS: 😩 Honestly, I don't have much of a complaint with the product itself; just don't buy the 150g tube unless you've got a reason to use that much... and I mean, like you have an espresso bar with several machines, or really if you work on machine maintenance! DETAILED REVIEW: AMOUNT AND VALUE: I originally considered the 150g tube, but my calculations quickly convinced me that would be ridiculous for my use. I lubricate the O-rings on my Flair Pro 3 only about every 3-6 months, and you need a surprisingly tiny amount each time. Even using a fairly generous estimate of 0.2g per maintenance session, 12g would be enough for around 60 sessions, or roughly 15-30 years at my maintenance schedule! 🤯 And I'm actually probably using even less than that, because even the biggest, thickest O-ring on the brewing chamber needed much less than the "lentil-sized" amount I'd read about. HOW MUCH YOU ACTUALLY NEED: As mentioned, it's even less than expected. At least for the Flair you're not supposed to coat the entire O-ring all the way around, as per Flair customer service's own recommendation. You're supposed to install the O-ring first and then apply Molykote only to the outward-facing side that will contact the other metal surface. That makes the amount needed absolutely tiny. So for occasional home use, 12g isn't just enough; it's probably enough for a very, very, very long time. PACKAGING AND USE: The 6g sachets are also way bigger than I expected: they're thicc! They look like little grease pillows rather than tiny packets, so 6gr is definitely more than you think. They're also surprisingly better suited to keeping their contents in the best condition than I expected. They have a small built-in dispensing spout, which makes it easy to apply the tiny amount you actually need and push the remainder back deep into the packet afterward. I originally looked for little carry-on cream containers to transfer the Molykote into, but I don't need to do that, as I feel the content will be best protected in its original package. I can just fold the packet and clip it closed, keeping the unused compound well protected. FINAL THOUGHTS: These little 6g packs turned out to be a much better fit for my use than the giant 150g tube. The "tiny" two-pack gives me plenty of product, the packaging is convenient, and because one packet can stay unopened, I don't have to keep opening the whole supply every time I need to lubricate an O-ring. For a home espresso enthusiast maintaining one machine, I'd definitely choose these over the huge tube. I know Molykote 111 seems like an expensive investment for something that's "just" lubricant. But once you realize how long it'll last, I think it's well worth the price. I also wouldn't recommend going for any of the unknown/Chinese compounds sold on other websites just because they SAY they're food-safe; you never really know what's in them, and I don't want questionable chemicals or other stuff coming into contact with something I'm going to ingest, do you? For the same reason, I wouldn't go for third-party repackaged Molykote either; once it's been taken out of the original packaging, you have no way of knowing what's actually in the package or under what conditions it was handled and repackaged.

This thick food grade grease does a good job at restoring piston gaskets in espresso machines. However, it's so expensive for what you get. The two packets sold in this set are very small and if you only use half a packet for a maintenance job, there is no way to seal the remaining grease in the packet to keep it sanitized. I really wish this was sold in half ounce or one ounce tubes. You can buy really large tubes but they are oversized and expensive for the average user.

After my last back flush, the Brew lever was squeaking. A microscopic amount of this stuff fixed it right up! If you have one of those nice espresso machines, go ahead and order the product now!

Don't install filter gaskets without it!

Highly recommended for greasing piston fountain pens. As of yet, not used. But something one must have on hand.
