I really only bought this to record youth sports with an iPhone. I don’t pan or tilt during a game, just lock in on a region. The rotational adjustments are buttery smooth. If I wanted to do a lot of action tracking with pan/tilt, I would buy the higher model with the arm/handle (based on how smooth this one is to adjust, I bet that one is great).I had two other cheap tripods before ($30 price range). The supports were flimsy and the pole adjustment screws wore out.Yes this one is 2-3 times the price, but it has great build quality compared to what am coming from. I am no camera pro, so this fits my needs well. The height is nice… when fully extended it clears most parents walking by in front of the camera. My old one would tip over and sway in the wind. This hasn’t done that. I like that I can sacrifice height for stability. If its a windy day, I can widen the stance… losing some height but preventing sway and tipping over. It even has a hook that I could use to hang a bag or some ballast weight to keep it kore stable. I have not done this. But if I used a heavier or more expensive camera, I’d likely ass this precaution. I wouldn’t want a stray soccer ball knocking it over.It took a minute to pack it up at first because I didn’t read any directions or pay attention to how it fit in the bag to start. But it compacts nicely and even fits in the bag with the included phone mount attachment (try folding the legs backward if you are having fit trouble). None of my old tripods fit in the bag without removing the top attachment (so I never used the bags).Would buy again (though I doubt I will need to). Now I am interested in the step up model that has the handle for easy manual pan/tilt… just because the adjustments are so smooth.

I bought this based on the good reviews. After receiving two, neither of which sit level when legs are collapsed, i went back and realized half the reviews are VINE reviews. I generally discount these as it's basically a free product for a good review. I did careful analysis and there seams to be very little consistency on the leg length. Some were different by as much as 1/8". Yes, I could just extend the short leg to get it level, but I use this in my business with a laser level and i want it to be close to level at fully extended and fully collapsed. I don't have to time to be adjusting each leg.Update: I purchased this unit Video Tripod with Fluid Head, Kamisafe VT-1500 Heavy Duty Tripod Stand Fluid Head Tripod for Video Camera DSLR Camcorderwas less money and much better quaility.

Definitely one of the best tripods I’ve ever used! I see the quality in every piece. It doesn’t weigh that much, and it gets broken down very small. I’ve been able to take it with me everywhere I’ve gone so far. I usually take photos by the coast line, and it’s worked out amazing. It holds a great amount of weight and is very sturdy.I would definitely recommend this tripod for anyone that’s looking for something reliable and well-built! I’m looking forward to taking it on my other photo adventures! This is exactly what I needed, I’m always doing long exposure photography, and this tripod is extremely stable and reliable. It has a really nice finish to it and looks great on top of it all!

I picked this tripod up because I wanted a super light weight option for shooting YouTube videos. When I got it it I liked most of the components except for the levers on the legs. They are plastic and a bit weak.I had see the Science Fiction Edition with aluminum levers and so I ordered that one too. The science fiction edition is much nicer and with the sale it was $10 cheaper. It’s only half a pound heavier and I really can’t tell the difference. I ended up returning this one.I would highly recommend the science fiction edition (yellow) over this one.

This tripod solves a lot of issues for me when trying to do mobile photography. It’s lightweight and very sturdy. You can also convert it into a mono pod and it folds up small enough that you can put it into any reasonably sized bag while walking around or hiking.
