Product just as described
It is much better than the kind where you tighten it down by turning the entire newel post. First of all, you can tighten it just the right amount without having to choose between one complete turn or the next. Second, it is easy to remove and use again if you change your newel post or want to put up a temporary one. Third, you don't risk scratching the floor as you turn it round and round.

Great product! Came improperly assembled.
This eventually worked great! The issue was that it refused to turn properly, and kept stripping the bolt until I opened the cam piece and realized that one of the gears was put on backwards. Fortunately, after taking the gears out and cleaning out the metal shavings from the nut, it worked great! Absolutely worth the money, but beware there may be some disassembly and reassembly required.
