Shiny Almost blinding joints!
If you’re like me and thought “flux is all the same” think again! I work on repairing electronics as a hobby and used different types of fluxes as I generally went with what I could find at the time. Don’t pass over this! I put some in a small needle applicator bottle and on the first pad this stuff was incredible! The old solder instantly cleaned and wetting was almost instant and uniform! The resulting cleaning was a nice bright shiny pad and when soldering a new joint this stuff is incredible and does most of the work for you! Hands down my new choice if I ever use the entire bottle.Pros: extremely effective at cleaning. Easy application from needle applicator bottle.Bright shiny solid joints.Cons:Only thing is yes, it is quite sticky but that’s not a problem when cleaning with a little 91% alcohol and medical grade cotton tip applicator. It is a little thin and likes to run when applied but not too bad as you only need such a small bit to the joint/pad to do the job.I did have it “burn” and leave some brown residue around on 1-2 joints which was by fault really for letting the iron sit a little too long but cleaned up easily with alcohol and brush.Trust me, you won’t regret this flux!

Excellent when used in an appropriate way
I took a punt on this when getting a different GE flux - I don't normally use a liquid flux by prefer a gel. However, needing some solder paste for a quick job and only having a year-old opened tub which had turned mostly solid, I tried rejuvenating it with this flux. By jove, it works! As I recall, the paste was originally a bit dodgy (hence why it hasn't been used) and suffered smearing when heated. After treating with this flux it was really nice to apply, and flowed properly in the oven.Fluxed with success, instead of the nail varnish brush I was going to use I tried a syringe to apply the flux to SMD pads. Using the smallest-but-one (blue) tip, it worked very well. A tiny amount could be easily placed on a pad without it spreading everywhere, and there was no dripping or leaking like you get after squirting out gel. I think this is going to be my preferred flux and application method for most things, now.A plus point is that it has a rather nice sweet smell (it may be bad for you, but if you're going to sniff it you might as well enjoy it).One thing to watch is if you knock over the jar and spill it all over your bench, it takes forever and a LOT of IPA to clear up. It is very seriously sticky and could easily double as contact adhesive.
