It will last through a handwashing but I tend to wash a lot so I definitely need to reapply more frequently. The smell is actually very pleasant to me. It’s not too strong at all. I really like the Gold Bond Retinol Overnight and would say it is generally a better lotion but this one is great for during the day and will help protect the skin.
