Quality of DVD is as Good as I could hope for.
First saw this on tv many years ago and have watched the tape I made from it many times. The quality of the DVD was very, very good and looking at the box I see that it was 'renewed' in 1980. The basic story is there, but having read most of what is available on Fatima over many years, and my mother being an adherent of the 'Blue Army' (which was started by John Haffert to oppose the Red Army in line with Fatima's teaching). The message of Fatima is more relevant today than it ever was. I am a Catholic and nearly all traditional Catholics will tell you that the third 'secret' was not what was revealed by the Vatican in 2000 or was it 2001? The consensus among those who are privy to the third secret (or have drawn the logical inference from many sources)is that it deals with the great apostasy of the Church (which we are in) and it starts from the top down. Malachi Martin on a radio show "revealed" the third secret by not stating it himself, but rather confirming a caller's statement that it was that satan would enter into the summit of the Church. Whatever you may think of Martin Fatima foretold that Russia would spread her errors throughout the world -- which she has. Communism is not dead folks, e.g., in S. America all countries save three are socialistic/communistic! Nearly every country in the world is at least socialistic. That's really what the new world order is, i.e., World Communism! Or a form thereof. To hear who took over Russia in 1917 listen to Benjamin Freedman's speech at the Willard Hotel, Washington D.C. 1961. It will also tell you why we were in WWI, WWII and why we're fighting a war for Israel right now! Pick it up at iamthewitness.com. Or you can read from many books who took over Russia (and still control it by the way) Father Denis Fahey's books: The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World, or his: The Mystical Body of Christ and the Reorganization of Society, or The Secret Powers Behind Revolution by Vicomte Leon de Poncins or Behind Communism by Frank L. Britton. As a Catholic I'm sure I don't agree with Texe Marrs on a lot of things but his video: Illuminati, Mystery Babylon is absolutely right on the money. Don't let the title throw you, if you're a Catholic (or Christian with your faith)and believe in the Miracle of Fatima this is for you. You don't have to buy this video simply type in google video on your address bar and then from google video type in Texe Marrs and pick this title out of several of his that are listed. And pass this link on to your Christian brethren! Yes, I'd like to see Mel Gibson do a remake on this. I consider this movie, i.e, The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima and The Passion of the Christ the two best Christian movies out there!

A Sleeper-For the Believers!
This wonderful film shot in 1952 by Warner Bros in Warner Color was discovered by me as I searched for films on Joan of Arc. Although in my early life I was aware of churches in my area named Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of Lourdes but never knew what the names represented. Approximately six years ago I became interested in the “Marian Apparitions” and first visited Fatima in Portugal. Many others followed so I could understand, why. I have been to Fatima over the last five years on the beginning and end (13 May- 13 October)of the six apparition dates. The film parallels the story very closely but adds a humanistic element of the relation of the children to Hugo de Silva, a character in the film, I do not know if this is historically grounded. The movie is very well done in a way similar to “The Song of Bernadette” however, in color and taking place in Portugal. I was disappointed the opening scene indicated the apparition was on the 15th of May a Sunday. Additionally, the movie did not address all of the three predictions divulged to the children From my experience the film is very accurate on its portrayal even to the fact it rains during the periods especially October! I was at the Virgil on13 October 13, 2016 where it rained for 3 days and pilgrims were there with a candle display. The film reveals droves of Portuguese coming to Fatima out of the countryside which is what still happens. I am still amazed at the piousness of the Portuguese people even today. This remarkable story of the three peasant children with their respective ultra-pious-attitudes is inspirational. Watch this film then go to Fatima, go to Fatima and then watch this film. It does not matter what faith you are “The White Lady of Peace” will capture you forever.

Three peasant children see a heavenly vision.
A movie I'll always cherish as long as I live. A childhood favorite that gets to me eveytime I see it. Three Portuguese children from the town of Fatima witness a beautiful heavenly vision while caring for their families sheep. The vision bids them to tell the people that God asks them to turn back to Him so that He may heal them and their land. The last vision shows the spectacular Day of the Sun sequence which causes fear and pandemonium at first but then leads to thanksgiving and praise. The color, the sweep of the story, the sometimes haunting and sometimes lively music plus the children's performances make this a classic through and through. I cry every time I see it! Wish they sold it in HD what a shame that they don't.

Still to be considered after all these years
Through the search engine of Amazon.com, I was able to acquire The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima, and to see it again after about 50 years. The story is well paced and puts credibility on the events that transpired. I am not sure how much artistic liberty was taken with the happenings that can be objectively verified. But the basic story is there, minus the third secret that finally was publicly announced in the year 2000. There were six visitations on the 13th of six consecutive months. It was not clear in the film whether the children actually made it to the fourth one in time, and the fifth one was eliminated entirely. This film is food for thought for those who are wrestling with the idea of what to believe. As one reviewer said, the ordinary people would not have known about the threat from Russia, as Lenin and the Bolsheviks were coming into power. And then, how did the children know ahead of time that Francisco and Jacinta would die young, and that Lucia would live on--into her nineties and, I believe, still alive as I write these words? I did read an account somewhere that even observers who continued to disbelieve had to admit that there was a "miracle of the sun." Can meteorologists give us a good explanation of the phenomenon that could have occurred? This film can reinforce the devout believers, debunk those who are totally skeptical, and continue to challenge the rest of us as we try to figure out what really happened. Hope this becomes more widely available soon, possibly on DVD with commentary.

Wonderful story, good cast and production values for a ...
As a very small youngster, I always got THE SONG OF BERNADETTE and THE MIRACLE OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA confused in my mind. I was always waiting for Vincent Price to show up as a prosecutor in MIRACLE! Both stories - based on true events close to 100 years apart - are amazingly similar. THE MIRACLE OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA still seems fairly contemporary - although it happened now nearly 100 years ago - and it ought to serve as a warning to those who value and believe in their religious faith and freedom that the government of any country - including our own - could take steps to diminish or outright destroy them. Wonderful story, good cast and production values for a modest Warner Bros. film. I would have liked to see some "extras" on the DVD, but these days all you generally get is the film and maybe a trailer. However, the film is well worth having in your collection!

A great movie, especially for Catholics. It's a true story with subtle Hollywood changes.
I've read the story about what happened, day by day, month by month at Fatima. The movie takes a few liberties with absolute facts, but the essentials are very much in line with what did happen on that day. The boy playing St. Francisco, ( Sammy Ogg) wound up becoming a minister, and it's quite a surprise to find the sweet little girl playing St. Jacinta is Sherry Jackson who went on to quite an active career, often playing the vamp. In either case this is a terrific movie, and knowing that it is essentially a true story makes it all the better.

The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima
I have viewed this film many times & at one time had a copy of the film of which I loaned & never had it returned to me. After a long search I finally found it again & will never let it out of my hands again. I'll look at it often over & over. I have reviewed some of the comments that are favorable & those not so favorable for one reason or another. All I can say is this is BEAUTIFUL & should be seen on TV more often than it is. There are many movies shown on TV that are an insult & give nothing to our intelligence & growth. Believe it or not there are still many who are unaware of the Miracle at Fatima in 1917. The message is crutial to our times. Our Lady needs to be better known if there is to be PEACE!!!! Lucia, the oldest seer is still living & reaffirms the events in Fatima. Francisco & Jacinta are deceased & have been declared Saints. With regard to the quality of acting, I also found this to be very good. Even if it were not, it would not distracted me from the message the film had to offer. I hope to buy more of this film in the future & distribute them as gifts.

Sehr empfehlenswert
