I purchased this splitter to replace and expand a 1 to 4 splitter for our church's AV system from another manufacturer that was failing. This 1 to 8 splitter was exactly what I was looking for! There seems to be a lot of different sources out there for what is appears to be basically the same unit. I read reviews and was a little leery about it given some of the reviews, which described various problems. My experience with it is that it appeared to be well-constructed, it was a convenient physical size for our uses, I was impressed at its value. I connected it to our system in just a few minutes, and it was a vast improvement oand over the unit it replaced, as it worked just fine! The video and audio signals going through it all seem to have good quality, completely satisfactory for our needs. Installing it in our A/V system, I did encounter one instance of ground loop hum, but this turned out to be due to another unit in the system which has shown this before, a low-end guitar amplifier which I had temporarily added to the system for testing purposes. When the amp was detached from the system, hum went away, and I do not believe the splitter was the source of the problem, as it is hum free now with 5 of 8 outputs connected (all we needed). We'll see how it holds up, but at this point I am very pleased with this splitter.

WORKS ON ALMOST ALL APPLICATIONS...GOOD PRODUCT..

I bought two of these (both four-port versions) and they work pretty well, although one of them emits a constant low-pitch hum that is pretty annoying. I narrowed it down to one of the AC adapters. A different reviewer has mentioned humming as well. I don't know if it's the same source. His makes it sound like it is a design flaw. I would have given this five stars, but the low-pitch hum is almost a deal killer. I do like how the red indicator light is recessed so that it's not obnoxiously bright, but is still bright when you look at it straight on. I wish more electronics would use this method so I don't have a glowing wall of LEDs at night. The metal black case is sleek and solid as well.

Decently built and performs well. Tested frequency bandpass characteristics of both video and audio amplifiers and both are very good. Audio bandpass is flat up to 200kHz! Comes with 9VDC power supply. Good value for money.

Really happy with this, working perfectly so far. Using it to split the signal from a NES into TV & PC. No noticeable degredation in signal. Silent operation. Struggled to find any alternative options so very pleased with quality and price.

My particular one was working well for several days with five outputs used. I switched it on this morning and it is continually in self oscillation. It turned out to be a noisy power supply. The unit works fine.

So far used 5 of the outputs to split TV signals from one Composite Output on Sat. Receiver. Works Great!!! Picture is very clear.

Work well with what I wanted it to do, just using the audio part of it.
