Cure for reflux and spit ups. Period!
It’s been YEARS since I wrote a product review here! That’s how AMAZING this product is. If you’re reading this, you’re as desperate as I was yesterday. I read all the reviews of this product before buying it. Shipped overnight and got it early in the morning. This has 100% stopped the terrible, and I mean horrible spit ups and reflux my 7 week old baby had. The first feeding using it still brought some thick spit up. Second feeding a tiny bit came just out the mouth. Since the third feeding there’s zero spit up. I can’t believe it! The bottle recommends starting slow so here’s we we do and is working, just typing it because this product is expensive and there’s no need to use so much when a tiny tiny bit of it just does its magic: We have a bottle warmer always on at 108F and a glass container (dollar tree cutips glass!) with water always warm. We mix a little under the line that the measuring cup has (about 1/3 of the scoop) into the prewarmed water. We have those metal small shake mixers in our glass Dr browns bottles. Shake this product with water and let it rest while we change her diaper. Then, we add two scoops of Bobbie formula (this is the thickest we’ve found -regular, not the organic) to make 4 oz of formula. We shake well. By the time we sit down and have baby ready to eat, the formula has thickened to the consistency of what I would compare to pineapple juice (you know how it’s thicker than apple juice!?). This amount is just perfect for our daughter. No need to add any more. We read ALL the reviews and decided to use a probiotic as well to make sure her gas and bowels are on point while using this product. Instead of doing the probiotic once a day (5 drops) we do one drop per feeding 5 times a day so space the use of probiotic throughout feedings. She regularly poops once a day and today she didn’t poop so I’m hoping this does t get her constipated. Will update the review in a few days. Don’t hesitate and stop questioning everything you do and what to try. Just give this product a try

LIFESAVER!!
Literally the only thing that has stopped my daughter’s extreme reflux. Medication didn’t work, hypoallergenic & amino acid formula didn’t help, AR formula wasn’t thick enough, oat cereal didn’t help & I wasn’t too keen on it to begin with. I do have to use quite a lot (5 scoops per 7oz of water typically) as I don’t think it’s thick enough for her unless it’s almost milkshake consistency. That’s the downside of it being rather expensive for how much I have to use & the jar only being half full. However, I will always buy this as we haven’t had any throw up incidents since though when we were living the exorcist & having to waste two hours keeping her upright with the amount of projectile vomiting every feed before that. I also love that it doesn’t change the nutritional profile of her formula.

Reduces Spit Up
This product has helped reduce the amount my daughter will spit up dramatically. She’s 10 months old and has a sensitive stomach, and had an issue with spitting up quite a lot. With Gelmix, she’s able to keep everything down with little to no spit-up, and we’ve been using this product since she was about 5 months. Highly recommend for any parents dealing with a similar spit-up issue.

I highly recommend this brand, from a mother to another mother
My son has swallowing difficulties since birth so his pediatric speech and swallow therapist recommended me to this brand. They are very reliable, my baby is unable to eat without it and some days I forget to order before it runs out but once again they never disappoint always on time with delivery. One time my order got sent to the wrong address, they reached out and sent me another one, I was so grateful that they did that. I highly recommend this brand as a mother to another mother.

This stuff works but causes gas!
This product has helped my baby keep his formula down. The only drawback is that it causes lots of gas and diarrhea for the first several weeks of use.

Great for Infant BM Thickening!
This product is so amazing for getting to feed my preemie newborn with feeding difficulties breast milk! My baby left the NICU on formula thickened with oatmeal to prevent micro aspirating. Because I continued pumping since birth, I was really hoping to find a way to feed her breast milk at a texture she can tolerate, and this did the trick! I am so grateful! Tips: The ratio of Gelmix powder to breast milk or formula may be a bit of an art for your baby and required some trial and error. Our baby started with one scoop (provided) per oz, which we're hoping to gradually decrease. We start with milk either room temp or slightly warmed and use a milk frother to try and avoid the clumps. We typically make 10-20 mins in advance of a feeding at room temp. Cons: Very difficult to get the powder to incorporate without clumping - you have to have a frother, or heat up the milk quite a bit to get it to mix, or mix well in advance. It does take some time to thicken, so if you need milk ASAP it will be an issue. May cause gas - this could be due to the frothing/shaking needed to mix the powder. Price is a little high, but it's worth it to feed my baby the breast milk I worked so hard to produce!

foreign contaminant
Dear Parapharma Tech Team, I am filing a serious safety complaint regarding Gelmix Infant Thickener. I purchased a new pack on September 5, 2025 from Amazon (Gelmix seller). After the very first use, my premature infant son began vomiting persistently throughout the day and was unable to keep anything in his stomach for more than 5–10 minutes. This reaction was extremely concerning and required medical attention. Upon inspecting the product, I discovered a metallic particle inside. When tested with a magnet, the particle was magnetic, confirming it is a foreign contaminant. Product Details: Product: Gelmix Infant Thickener Lot Number: 2410003 Expiration Date: 02/2027 Place of Purchase: Amazon (Gelmix seller) Adverse Reaction: Persistent vomiting and refusal to eat in a premature infant immediately after first use of the new pack. This is an extremely serious issue for an infant product. I am urgently requesting: 1. An immediate investigation into this contamination. 2. Instructions on how to return the product for testing. 3. Assurance that affected batches will be addressed to prevent harm to other infants. I am retaining the product and packaging and am prepared to provide them for your investigation or share them with regulators. I will also be reporting this incident to the FDA’s MedWatch program. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and advise on next steps as soon as possible. Sincerely, Mennatallah Yehia

Lifesaver for reflux
I was exclusively nursing but then about a month in my baby started having horrible reflux all the time. I switched to exclusively pumping and bottle feeding to see if that made a difference but it persisted. We saw a pediatric GI who recommended Gelmix and it was a lifesaver. We saw a change in reflux immediately. My only complaint is that the instructions for mixing it include shaking it, which lactation consultants advise against. We ended up using a bottle warmer and then the prongs of a fork to smush up clumps and mix in powder. Thankfully we saw an improvement around 5 months and were able to go off of it but are so grateful for the gelmix.
