Great Printer
This is a work horse when it comes to needing a compatible printer that can handle your workload. The documents come out fantastic with a brilliant clarity. The fact that not only does it print it handles every need that I can possibly need in a printer for my home office makes it a great buy. I love that its size takes up very little space.

Fast Setup, Great Print Quality — Slightly Slow Wake‑Up, But Worth It
I bought the Canon PIXMA TR8620A as an emergency replacement for an older PIXMA that stopped loading paper. You don’t realize how much you rely on a printer until you suddenly can’t print anything. Setup was incredibly fast — about five minutes — and it even accepted the leftover cartridges from my previous Canon. AirPrint is the best part: no cables, no drivers, just instant printing from every device on WiFi. The only minor downside is that the TR8620A is Energy Star compliant, so the initial wake‑up feels slower than my old printer. But once it’s awake, it’s noticeably faster — the paper practically flies out. Overall, a reliable, easy replacement and exactly what I needed. — HansandGret

WORST PRINTER & PHONE APP EVER!!
This will be my very first 1 star review, but I cannot help myself. I spend days and weeks researching every printer I've ever bought. I was in a bit of a hurry and only spent a few hours looking around before deciding on this one. HUGE mistake. The reason it is affordable is because it's not even worth the current price. I already own a strictly for photos printer and needed something for my home office/personal use. Canon has done good by me and the past, and it was at least 4 stars, so should be fine, right? SO Wrong. The set up was fairly simple but getting my phone connected to it was a straight nightmare. Even after it successfully connected, it consistently gave me a no "no printer available" warning the entire 1.5 hours I spent on it. 1.5 hours to print ONE document. The app is absolutely trash. Seriously the worst, slowest, least user friendly device app I have ever encountered, printer or otherwise. It took FOR-EV-ER every single time I selected any option the made the app connect to the printer. Every single time, ever single option I chose. Even selecting "Printer Status" took over 7 minutes to simple tell me it was online. But the best part was the quality, for sure. I needed to print a single document. Just 1. It took me over an hour to print a just halfway decent copy. The black ink look ash gray in the first few copies, and not very black by 6 (the aforementioned halfway decent print which i decided to accept and be done). I got a "Printer Block"error, after error, over and over and over again, with no block to be found anywhere. The last copy I printer was no even very good, let alone great. The ink was dull and much more gray then black. I was able to FINALLY remove the page borders the printer kept inserting despite the settings corrections I did MULTIPLE times, but the only way I got them removed was through a third party app that adjusted the dimensions. In other words it dumbed it down so even this garbage printer couldn't justify another useless copy. I almost never leave bad reviews, but I could not live with myself if I didn't warn any future possible buyers to TURN BACK. Oh and after 5 copies my ink was almost halfway gone, just for the cherry on top. If you are considering giving this device a chance, one more time, It is a TRICK, Don't do it!

1 Year Later – Reliable Home School Printer with a Few Frustrating Flaws
I've been using this printer consistently for about a year now for homeschooling, home office work, and everyday printing, so I feel like I’ve gotten a very real sense of how it performs long-term. Overall for me, this has been a reliable, easy-to-use all-in-one printer that keeps up with daily use without major issues. ✅ What I love: Perfect for homeschooling & home use. I print worksheets, templates, flyers, and copies constantly, and this printer handles it all with ease. The copy function alone gets used almost daily in my house. Adjustable touchscreen. The screen tilts up and down, which makes it much easier to see and use depending on where you're standing. The interface is simple and intuitive. Multiple paper loading options. You can load paper from the bottom tray or the rear feeder, which is helpful depending on what you're printing. *See below for my problem with this* Easy copying & scanning. Straightforward and quick with no complicated setup. Great print quality. Both color and black-and-white prints come out clean and professional. I often laminate my prints, and they hold up beautifully. Individual ink cartridges. Each color is replaced separately (yellow, magenta, cyan, black), which helps reduce waste and saves money over time. Wireless printing from multiple devices. I regularly print from my phones, laptops, and tablet without any issues. I use Samsung Galaxy products for phones/tablet, & my computers are Chromebook (school) and HP (daily use). They can all easily be connected to the printer. ⚠️ What to know before buying: -WiFi range matters. This printer does not perform well if it’s far from your router. Keeping it in the same room (or very close) makes a noticeable difference in reliability. -Paper loading can be finicky. Paper needs to be aligned just right or it won’t feed properly. Even when it is loaded seemingly right, it sometimes rejects. If you change the paper load location, it will prompt you to approve the changes on the digital display. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. -It is a little on the loud side. Final thoughts: After a full year of consistent use, this has been a dependable, versatile printer that works especially well for homeschooling and everyday home tasks. It’s easy to use, produces great quality prints, and handles a variety of needs in one machine. Just keep it close to your router and take a little extra care when loading paper.

Great printer at a reasonable price.
Great printer with features not found in other ink printers, I purchased this printer because I have had good luck with Canon products. My old Canon printer was several years old and was having mechanical issues. After seven years of successful printing with my old Canon, I wanted to find another printer that used the same ink cartridges. I had a good supply of cartridges and didn't want to trash them. This printer filled the need. Quite to my surprise, this printer has an automatic document feeder that allows for scanning without having to lift the cover. Printer was easy to install, recognized my internet connection, was up and running as soon as I installed the cartridges. It came with new cartridges but prior experience had shown these provided cartridges will not last long. They match my supply of cartridges on hand so no need to buy more cartridges for quite a while. I highly recommend this printer due to its ease of setup, reliable continuous use without problems, and pretty good Canon support, if needed. Great price and on time delivery was a plus. Printout is great quality and colors are vivid. Prints great quality photos if using good quality photo paper. Printer also has fax capabilities. Not important for me but great if you need business functions.

Off label cartridges came in box with the above label
Love the printer! My 2nd Canon PIXMA TR8620a - All-in-One Printer Home Office. No issues with printer but do have issue with the ink cartridges that came with the printer. One they do NOT fit the printer. 5 stars for the printer - 0 stars for the “Korean only customers “ ink cartridges. Please send correct ink cartridges. Thank you ! Great printer look forward to correct cartridges. C. Hargett

You get what you pay for
These printers are cheap and have a short life span. They are pretty much worth the price of the ink. You feel the cheap plastic when you unbox. The document feeder is not usable, gets jammed every time. Prints and scans fine for about 3 years with light usage.

Very pleased with performance and consumables.
Many years ago, I was the proud owner of a Canon PIXMA printer (sorry, can't remember the model) when quality was paramount in the build, operation, interface and resolution, and the consumables. Prior to that ownership, I used other manufacturers and models and found the Canon line superior. With other units, I experienced clogs jets, high ink use and slow print and scan speeds. After some years, my Canon would no longer come 'online' to my WiFi and even direct PC linking was intermittent despite returning it to factory reset or attempting technical support. As I searched for a replacement, I checked out the current offerings and found most to be wanting...an evident lack of quality in construction, noticeable loss weight (heft), and features. I looked at other manufacturers and aside from 'buying to try', couldn't find a another manufacturer without spending a fortune for a home printer. I opted not to go the ink tank route since I print only occasionally (a lot when I do) and tank reviews are mixed requiring frequent printing. I purchased a different Canon model, and didn't like the print speed, noise and rate of ink consumption. I have that unit away and purchased this model and am pleasantly surprised by the differences. I had some experience with an earlier version of this model (purchased for a relative), that had the same front panel, front/rear paper loading options, SD chip option, WiFi connection and ink replacement features. I didn't see any of that as off-putting - in fact, rear loading (especially for heavier stock) is a plus. So cutting to the chase: I'm please with this model. The GUI/LED panel has all the functions you could look for and is intuitive...you don't actually need a manual. Linking to the WiFi was simple and quick. The print speed is faster than I anticipated and ink consumption is clearly better than the prior Canon unit. The network experience is good (laptop) , particularly when using Canon Inkjet Smart Connect (and likewise the mobile app when printing from it - both iPhone and iPad). Scanned images of documents, etc. are crisp, although I wish it would offer more than 600dpi when doing photos or images, but in those cases I use my iPhone/iPad for captures. Bottom line: Canon still makes a good product 'tho the trend has been to use cheaper materials - more plastic parts noticeable in heft and feeling less solid. But all the competitors are doing likewise. And ink consumption is a problem across all lines, but that's where they make their most profit even with tank units. There appear to be complaints about WiFi setup and performance; I have not encountered any issues with Canon software setup, and I will say that this touch screen interface is much easier than other Canon units. Lastly...there are complaints about having to raise the control panel to print - freeing up the space for paper tray loading and exiting prints. But I don't really find that so annoying. The backlit LED panel is large and the touch screen easy to access, navigate and the functions intuitive. I wish the ADF could handle two-sided originals, but again not necessarily a deal breaker for me - it might be if I had large double-sided documents to scan or copy. I hope this helps.
