These are fantastic! Easy for a normal height adult to flip up to deactivate in case of a fire etc. They are super easy to put on and effective enough to keep a toddler safe but when I accidentally locked myself out of the house in 90 degree weather, I was able to force the window open even with this plastic device in place. I’m not sure yet If the device is actually compromised due the impact of shoving it open but I reset it and it’s still working as a safety device as of right now. It definately WOULD not keep out an intruder If they were motivated, but it would make a lot of noise and deter a less ambitious intruder.

I got these because my cats are nosey and like to poke their heads out the window, I live on the seventh floor of my building and my windows didn’t come with screens. When I need to air the house out (like if I’m cooking or if there’s a bad smell etc), I wanted to be able to open the windows without worrying that the cats will be able to wedge the window open further and get outside and plummet to their deaths. (Falls from windows are a very very frequent cause of death for housecats!)So far, I love these things. They were very easy to install. It was kind of hard to wrap my head around how they’d work just reading the instructions online, but when I got them out of the package it all clicked. They work well for both my sliding door and my swing-open window (probably not what they’re built for, but I stuck them outside of the windowsill and it works— see my photo). They are very easy to move in and out of their “locked” position, so you can open the window wider if you need to. Also, I didn’t have to worry about using them in front of my children, because my children are cats!

I installed this easily in my son's room on his four windows and as a result, he is able to still open the window but not dangerously which gives me peace of mind. High quality, smart design. Functions as expected.

Live in a four-season climate and love fresh air in the house as often as possible. And, since the screens on the house I just bought and moved into are all damaged, I bought adjustable screen inserts that are stabilized with the actual window. But, that creates a vulnerability. So, I put these on the windows to prevent intruders from easily pushing through the screens. Not perfect. But, I do like the fact that any hurdle one can present is helpful - even in towns like mine where the crime statistic are very low. Just want fresh air without inviting trouble. So, these add a layer of protection, among other measures. Cannot speak to whether they prevent intrusion since there have been no incidents. But, having them is better than having nothing to present a hurdle - if nothing more than the noise such would produce. My dogs would take care of the rest! Update: I recently purchased several in-window fans to improve circulation. These are taller than the screens I bought last year. So, I bought more of these to provide similar stability and protection. It is great that they are so flush to the window that there can be two sets of levels without interference. Pleased.

These stops are easy to install and override if you want to open the window further, though I don't think toddlers can override them. The only concern is if they will come off or possibly damage the window glass if the window has momentum when it hits the stop.

It does what it is intended to do, but I think it’s way overpriced. I paid $12 for 4 of them. Seems excessive for a small piece of plastic with tape on the back! They do the job for which they are intended; I added them to our sliding glass door and our kids’ rooms to prevent them from opening any windows or doors more than 3 inches which is recommended for young kids. I recommend two of them for most windows (which makes it even more pricey). If you have little kids who love to get into anything, they could potentially figure out how to flatten them and open a window (if they really really tried it and were relentless). Overall not really worth the cost considering you have to buy two to get peace of mind if you have curious little kids.

I have a toddler that continues to open his window on the second floor to see his friend across the street; however, our home was built with no screens on the window so this was of course extremely dangerous. Finding specific screens to fit for EACH window of the home was a hassle and these were a great fix to the issue at hand. I was initially skeptical on these by the price and not believing it would be that easy to fix this issue. WRONG. Easy to install, durable, would be difficult for a child to close the latch to fully open the window. I placed them so he can open the window a few inches but not enough for him to be able to fall through; win-win on both sides!

I applied two of these to my window when my son was not present. I didn’t want him to have any ideas why the window wouldn’t open. He tried opening the window a few days after I put them on and he was disappointed to relieve the window would not longer open.So far they are perfect for keeping him safe. They were easy to put on and they do close up easily for user convenience (you have to use your hand to close them up so you can open the window) so I would not let your child see you install them or see you adjust them to open the window. In fact in our case I will not open this window at all.

I love these, they work so well!Super easy to install, great to help keep the little ones safe from opening the window further ! Takes a bit of work to remove them, but the adhesive doesn’t leave a residue!

These are the greatest!! Soooo easy to use. Easy to unlock if needed. Even fits our super old windows with very large frames. I bought these so we could open the window just enough to get air at night but still feel safe that an intruder can't just come and open the window and climb in.

Great solution to baby proofing slide open windows in our apartment. Very easy to install and use.

Does what it's suppose to do.

Wanted as much security on nursery window as possible because they're older windows (previous owner smoked inside, hence the very off white colour)Took two minutes to install both (one on left and right side of window) you can install them a couple of inches higher on the window if you wish to be able to crack the window open for a breeze but i wanted mine to stay closed. You can hopefully see in the picture that if i "close" the safety latch it lays flat enough that, for my style of window, I could then open the window all the way.
