Best plastic cage you can buy. - Here's the thing: you'll want a big, metal, expensive cage IF you're using big, expensive cameras and equipment to attach it all on. But for the rest of us using smaller cameras, SLRs, and less accessories for our small films, these plastic brands are enough for us. But of all the inexpensive cages out there, I can't imagine a better one for your buck than this one. There's less expensive ones, but I don't like the looks of them. They look more inconvenient and flimsy. But for this product, made of a thick, hard plastic, for just a little more money you get a little more in return, and it makes all the difference. The best feature is the incredible metal built follow focus. Worth every penny. I also appreciate the build of the matte box, and the cloth cover it comes with, the shoulder pad and grips to carry it around on are comfortable, and the counterweight is a must. And all the parts come together tight and sturdy. I'm not wild about the release plate though, or the matte filter holders. Those things are too plasticy, but not in a way that they'll ruin your shot using them. You also get extra parts, and you can attach accessories on the cage. It works very well, builds your muscles carrying it, (you need to lift more anyways), and for its price range I think it's the best you can get. (No instructions on how to piece it together though, but there's You-Tube for that).
