You can use VS1838B to search for the data sheet. **Q: Does anybody know what resistor to use with this ir led and arduino?** A: I have tested the receiver without a resistor and it works fine. **Q: Is the ir receiver tuned to 38 khz or it is just an ir sensor?** A: Its a 38 khz. Designed to output a low when a 600 uS band of 38khz pulses is received. Normally there is a 900uS dead band between pulse bands. Data is sent by missing and populated bands of pulses. **Q: could this be used for a garage door stop?
