If the range is needed to be greater, drop down a hole in the lower linkage plate, and it should work. Lowest hole has more throw. Center is for standard 231.

Yes it will all that dose is get rid of the transfer case weak linkage With something is better and makes you shift better just know you are going to have to make your own Adjustments to get it dialed in

I have a 98 jeep xj with a ls1 conversion. 4L60 transmission with a 231 Np . Will it work on it?

You have to modify it, ie weld a 1.5 inch tab on the lever extension. And use the stick shift mounting, just got done doing this today, linkage works perfect now.

Will this work on an 1984. 2.8 v6 4x4 cherokee xj selec-trac np229 t-case?

If you can, go look at diagrams for the shift linkages of cherokee of similar or later year with the inline 6 cylinder np224 Transfer case. If they are very similar in dimensions and functionality it’s likely to work. You can contact azzys design works throught their main site for more tech questions too. They may already know the answer.
