Well made literacy toy that can be used with one or a small group
As a special education preschool teacher I can recommend this product to teachers and parents. The pieces are wooden and have attractive colors. The cards can be used for upper to lower case matching or beginning letters giving opportunities to children at different levels. The cards are more durable than I was expecting. I also like that the fishing poles strings are not too long like some other fishing games I have purchased. This product is a great value that will allow for a variety of literacy games.

Our 4 yr old granddaughter loves this educational game
We got this game for our 4-year-old granddaughter. She was very excited and it's been helping her as she learns her letters. From her view, it's great and fun -- and she's very happy to have it.From mine, I don't really get it. Obviously I'm happy if she's happy. But the game itself doesn't make that much sense and is also a little boring. But whose view matters here? Hers or mine? Obviously hers! And as long as it's working, then it's great. The fish fit into the board pretty well. The poles are magnetic at their tips and able to pick up the fish. The flashcards -- "Activity Cards" -- are big and easy to read. It doesn't really matter that it's not really clear what to do with them. You can call out a letter and have your young 'un try to find it and fish it out. It helps and is therefore good. Also seems well constructed and able to last. Of course, lots of little parts so good luck not losing a letter ("fish). But hopefully your kid enjoys at as much as mine.

Great Activity for Young Kids
This is an example of a game that you would want your child to play to ensure that they are working on their motor skills and also learning at the same time. This was a fun game even for my nine year old. It reminds me of Go Fish but with a more educational focus.

Good learning toy
My son is obsessed with numbers and the alphabet. I got him this set so he could play fish with his letters. Well, he doesn't play fish with them at all, but he does like to line them up and drop the fish in the holes for each letter. This is a solid wood set. The base is thick and sturdy. Each fish is painted on all sides. The letters are clearly painted on the front and the back. There is a magnet part on the mouth of the fish that points up. The holes for the fish also have letters painted on them so you can easily see which one goes in which spot. You get 2 wooden fishing rods with rope that has a magnet "lure" on the bottom to catch the fish. We honestly lost the fishing poles pretty quickly since he never used them for fishing ever. The fish are a good size for toddler hands. He can hold them and carry them around easily but not put them in his mouth. They are too big for that. The magnets and the poles could be considered choking hazards, but if you supervise play it would be fine. The fish store inside their holes in the board and the whole thing can slide back into the box.
